Travel is something that either everyone wants to do or is planning to do. It is one of the great pleasures in life that can bring lifelong memories. Do not try to scrimp to much or you will not enjoy your vacation because you will always be thinking of the money you spent on that dump. If you spend a little more you won't even remember the price in the long run. The says is still true, you get what you pay for.
- 1. To Travel Free you gotta know people who want to travel with you. Here is what you do. Find the trip you have always been dying to go on. Find out prices from your favorite travel agent*, Make Up a flyer, pass them around to all your friends, family (or anyone you would be willing to travel with) TIP: Most companies only require 8 to 10 rooms or cabins sold in order for group leader to travel free. That is only 16 or 20 people.
2. From Mid-December to mid March get ready to hibernate at home because the great deals just are not out there. This is when everybody has been waiting to go anywhere hot, kids are off school, holidays, etc. make this prime seasons for people to travel. The suppliers know this and they are not giving out too many breaks.
3. Do you always need the best? Instead of an oceanview cabin on a Caribbean Cruise, settle for a porthole, or cheaper yet, an inside cabin. For a resort or hotel, what's wrong with looking at gardens(or sometimes parking lots) O.k so oceanviews are beautiful, but it is you that wants to save money, not me.
4. Do not always go Superior Deluxe, you will never want to leave the resort or your room and then what is the point of that beautiful Caribbean island and all of those adventures you had been dreaming about. Go lower class on the resort and spend a little money on all the the things the destination has to offer. Take some tours.
5. There are many travel clubs you can find offline and online, where you can either travel in a certain group, or travel agencies have gotten group rates in hopes of selling more packages. If the group is large enough then the savings can be great.
6. Go with packages, Do not price out airline tickets, hotel, car seperately. Most of the time you can get a special package that includes all of this for a much more reasonable price. I personally like All Inclusive packages that also include my food and drinks. That way I only have to bring a little money for shopping, and they are a better value.
7. Call your travel agent and find out those unknown destinations that in a few years will be popular but the tourists have not found out about yet. The mega resorts likely haven't built there and you might be able to find some good rates. http://vibride.globaltravel.com is the fairest, fastest and simplest way to book travel on the web.
8. Sign up for a credit card that offers points or discounts on travel if you use your card. Carnival and Marriot now has there own card and there are just a couple that I am thinking of. You know you are going to use your credit card anyway so why not get something for it.
9. Travel during the week. Everybody has the week-end off so take a couple of days off during the week and save some money (This does not apply to hotels, or car rental agencies). Book low airfare on the web.
10. Book your own travel as a travel agent. There are lots of perks in the industry such as upgrades and discounts. Plus all of your friends will come to use when they want to go somewhere and you will make a good commision off of your travel and your friends and family.**
