The Most Asked Questions:

Here is a list of answers to the most asked questions by groom about their wedding. Make it all appear to run smoothly while pondering the weight of marriage to one person for the rest of your life and still look cool is what being a groom is all about. It's soon the big day and here are a few reminders:

Where do I Stand?
Traditionally the groom waits at the altar. However, it is also acceptable for the groom to precede his bride down the aisle with his parents.

When Do I escort the Bride to the Altar?
As the bride's father gives her away, he'll lift her veil and kiss her. Then he'll shake your hand, which is your cue to escort your bride-to-be up to the altar steps. At the conclusion of the service, the bridal couple leads the processional, and if there's a receiving line at the church, it should be formed right away to greet guests as they exit.

When Does The Party Start?
The reception begins with the introduction of the bridal party. After that, the best man toasts the bridal couple. Then the groom can offer a toast thanking the guests for their attendance.

When Do I Dance With My New Wife?
When the music starts, the first dance is reserved for the bridal couple. This is followed by the bride dancing with her new father-in-law, then her father. During this time the groom will dance with his mother-in law first, then his own mother. We suggest getting lessons. A great way is with a Wedding Day Dance DVD

How Do I Cut The Cake?
When cutting the cake, the groom places his right hand over the bride's. The cake can then be cut up for serving or set out with wrappers for guests to take home. About a half hour before the scheduled end of the reception, the bridal couple may leave for their honeymoon.

Do I Have To Formally Thank Our Guests?
YES. Within three months of the wedding, be sure to send thank-you notes to all your guests. Make the notes personal by mentioning the gift and how much you and your wife are enjoying it.
