What Type Of Tux & When To Wear It
There is no way out of it, you have to wear a Tux! There has never been a man born who didn't look great in one, so you have nothing to worry about.
You are James Bond.
Just for that night maybe, but Bond none-the-less. Be as cool and slick as ever. Here are a few ideas on how to pick out a perfect suit that YOU LIKE. Be sure you are comfortable with your tux choice and how it looks on you. There are a lot of different types of tuxedos out there, but you only need one! These listed below are the ones appropriate for each occasion.
Very Formal Day Wedding
-- Traditionally this takes place between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and the traditional dress is a morning suit. A morning suit is a long jacket with wide tails at the back (in black or grey). Accessories are usually a white shirt, ascot and vest.
Formal Day Wedding
-- A stroller jacket (long jacket) in black or grey with matching pants. Accessories would be a white shirt with a vest and ascot or a white shirt with a tie and cumberbund.
Informal Daytime Wedding
-- A dark suit, preferably black or grey, double breasted, with a white shirt and tie are fine.
Very Formal Evening
-- A shawl collar tux in black or white with all your accessories matching is appropriate. An elegant touch would be white gloves.
Formal Evening Wedding
-- A dark coloured tux with matching accessories
Don't be worried if you don't understand what we're talking about.
This list is to help you when you start browsing through the tuxedo catalogs. All tuxes are very specifically labelled in this fashion. Also when you end up going to the tuxedo store, you may very well decide that you're original choice isn't what you want at all. Be sure, above all else, that you are comfortable with your choice and how it looks on you because you're gonna get your picture taken over, and over, and over again!!
Based on whatever you buy, you would outfit the groomsmen to compliment you and try to coordinate any colors you choose, i.e. for the cumberbunds, ties and/or handkerchiefs with your bridesmaids dress colors.
