Whether you get married by a lake, on a mountain, or have a traditional church wedding, infuse your ceremony with the carefree bliss of the summer months.

Nature's Processional
Even if you're getting married indoors, enjoy the scenic summer landscape by asking your wedding party, your mom and dad, or each and every one of the guests to take a liesurely stroll on the way to the ceremony. Led by the bride and groom, this walk to the wedding lends an air of romance to the processional. Or, if your guests are waiting for you at the site, take your parents on a walk before the ceremony - taking the time to thank them for everything.

Consider Your Seating
If your ceremony is outside, be sure you "test" your seating arrangement at the time of day you'll be getting married. Be sure to seat guests so the sun won't be in their eyes, as well as have the best view of the two of you.

A Grand Entrance
If nature is your setting, spend some time planning a processional. Is there a natural path that would make a dramatic entrance for you and the bridal party? Get creative: a garden path through a trellis, onto the beach from behind tall sea oats, over a hill for all your guests to see. Have fun creating an alternative to the "center aisle" by coming up with something new.

Summertime Vows and Readings
Don't forget to include the season in your promises and the ceremony itself. If you're writing your own vows, consider your environment as a theme: where are you standing as you make these promises? The ocean, a mountain, a grassy field? Are there items in your surroundings that you can compare, contrast, make allusion to? Spend an afternoon with your lover in the spot you're getting married and brainstorm your vow ideas. Fill in your ceremony with readings about the summer, the ocean, or other warm-weather topics. Try Shakespeare's Sonnet 118, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?", or Kahil Gibran's "On Marriage" from his book The Prophet, where he compares the love of marriage to a moving sea between shores.

Music
Music at a beach wedding is most beautiful if kept simple. A singe guitar or steel pan player can be very effective. Or, a CD of atmospheric music played softly at the reception can add a romantic feel.
