I love the baroque period, the 16th and 17th century europe ladies were swank! The just oozed sexuality and every man wanted to just gobble them up..they were cool about that. Us big girls were very desireable too..they callaed us "rubenesque".
This was actually my cinderella dress but...then I woke up

I had put a deposit down on it at Macy's but the lady in the shop gave me an attitude. I called asking if she knew approximately how much the alterations would be. She said if I couldn't afford the dress, I shouldn't have wasted her time. Needless to say I will not be buying my dress from Macy's.
I'm looking for a bridal shop now with a person who won't jump to conclusions. Any suggestions?

You could contact Niquey (Phenomonique), she has a shop located in the Bronx. (I don't know if this is feasible for you). Another very reputable place in Jersey is Arlene's Bridal on Bloomfield Ave in Bloomfield. I know a lot of bride's that went there.

How dare her. Could she have afforded it? You can find many loving shops with nice salespeople and payment plans. Don't let her ruin your wedding dress search.
The price wasn't the problem at all. I was just updating my budget and wanted to know an approximate number to write down. They just lost my business as well as my 10 bridesmaids and flower girl.

You did the right thing by taking your business elsewhere...See, I probably would've told her off about judging people she doesn't know. You could've easily been NASA's CFO, a Senator, or a maid. Doesn't matter...Her @$$ is a sales associate for Macy's at the end of the day & her job is to assist customers! Girl, you need to find out her name & report that 'ish to her manager!
Ajia, you got me fired up over here.

I purchased my gown from Bridal's By Roma on Rte 46 in Clifton. I recieved a letter a week ago that my dress is in. The alterations are included in the price. No complaints thus far. My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from Arlene's Bridal. Everyone there is very helpful.
Hope this helps..
I went to bridal's by roma and yes they do have lovely dresses, however some of the prices are rediculous. A friend of mines wanted a mermaid stle dress so we went there.

Yes, some of the prices are rediculous. However, I had a store credit & I would've lost my money if I didn't spend it. So, it was either put it towards a dress or apply the money towards a very expensive veil/tiarra. The latter of the two wasn't an option for me.
If I didn't have the store credit I probably would have started out at Roma's just to get an idea of what I wanted, their selection is huge.
