Can someone give me some ideas about flower? My colors are turquoise, chocolate and ivory. I just can't figure out what color flowers to use for my wedding party bouquets. Any suggesting would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance Divas

Re: Flowers

Queen will your dress be the spun gold color you posted? If so, you could play off the color of your dress by having very pale yellow colored flowers mixed with a bunch of cream/champagne/blush colored roses. If you want something more vibrant, a good florist can dye carnations with food color to match the teal. Now you may be like me and say to your self "I don't like carnations"' but when placed in a tight bouquet as a filler flower, your eye notices the color before the mind registers that it's a carnation. I hope that makes sense, can't think of any other way to explain it. Do you have a pic of your bridesmaids dresses that you can post? That would help us visualize and offer other suggestions.

Re: Flowers

In case you are interested in dying carnations, I found this info on the web:

How to Dye a Carnation

Flower petals have holes called stomas, which are too tiny to observe with the naked eye. When the stem of a flower is put in water, the water travels up through the stem and out these holes. If you set a white carnation in colored water, the colored water will travel up through the stem. Follow these steps to dye your carnation any color you wish.

Re: Flowers

That is a good tip. Does this procedure work on all white flowers

Re: Flowers

House, I'm not sure if it works with other flowers. Carnations are the only flowers I've seen in such a wide variety of "unnatural" colors. I'm actually curious now too so I'll look into it and let you know.

Ginoue, nice pics.

Queen simple white calla lillies are always an option as well. You can handtie them with matching ribbon.

Re: Flowers

I love your BM's gowns queenbee! I even think a hint of orange would be kind of nice in your flower arrangement.

Re: Flowers

Since you are doing a mostly blue dress, I think either yellow or white bouquets would be beautiful.

However, looking at Ginuoe's arrangement in Green, it makes me feel like it would be a nice compliment to your color scheme. I like the green the more and more I think about it. We ended up doing dresses in that tiffany blue, and almost by accident, we decided to do the yellow because it looked pretty. It was very unexpected, and broke up our monotonous Tiffany blue, white, and silver. I also think that the green bouquets with the white as shown would be a beautiful compliment to your Spun Gold Wedding Gown. You can be diva-licious and let your "something blue" be your garter. At least thats what I did:)
