Hey ladies...
I need some help with the wording of my invitations for my rehersal and rehersal dinner

I want them worded so that they know what time the rehersal is and dinner will follow

ok...I think ive come up with something not too bad
Let me know what you think. Everything would be centered on the invitation of course.

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
Request your company
at a rehearsal dinner honoring

Jane Smith
and
John Pope

Friday, April 4, 2008
The wedding rehearsal
will start promptly at 6:30PM, at
The Hyatt Hotel
Richmond, VA
Dinner to follow at
The Flagship Restaurant
Richmond, VA.

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

How about

Mr. and Mrs John Doe
Request the honor of your company
At a rehearsal dinner honoring,

(you)
and
(your FH)

(Location Name)
(Location Address)
(Date of event)
(Time of event)

(Centered text, of course)

Remember that your bridal party do not need to know that there is a rehearsal. That should've already been a given. So, you do not neet to mention it on the invitation.

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

Thanks for the suggestion...

See the thing is my entire bridal party is coming in from out of town.
I just want to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
I dont want to have a few people at the restaurant thinking that we were just going to meet there.

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

Your invitation card is beautiful, but unfortunately, etiquette is etiquette. You will have to make a lot of phone calls to your bridal party to make sure that everyone knows about the rehearsal and at which location it is. Also, you should post that information on your website and encourage them to visit often. Another thing I've done for my clients is a Newsletter that I send out to the bridal party every 3 months while still in the planning stages and when I reach the 5 week mark, I send the newsletter every week. That way, no one can say that they're not aware of this or that. Plus, I always follow up with a phone call.

So, sorry Diva, you've have to let your fingers do the walking on this one to make sure they're informed about the rehearsal time and place.

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

Hey Ginoue...
My invitation actually has the Rehearsal location on it
I just covered it up with a small piece of paper for the purpose of posting it online. (I didnt want to put all my business out there...LOL)

So hopefully calls will not be necessary...

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

Hey Chandra! I've always received a rehearsal/rehearsal dinner invitation - well, for the 2 I've attended. One dinner was in the same location as the rehearsal so it just said dinner to follow in the fellowship hall, the other was at a different location and was similar to yours.

Since the beginning of the invite references a dinner honoring you two, maybe an insert card regarding the rehersal would be better. Basically you would leave out the line about the wedding rehearsal and have a card detailing this separately (you can print several on a piece of cardstock and cut them). Something like:

*Don't forget*
Wedding Rehearsal
ABC Church
Address
Time
Anything they need to bring (i.e. shoes are good so they can get a feel for walking in them)
Dinner to follow - see enclosed invitation

You would also have to have an approximate time for the dinner instead of the rehearsal time. This is good if you are inviting peope not included in the ceremony (i.e. OOT people, BP spouses, etc.) because they can chill while the rehersal is happening and meet you at the restaurant. HTH!

Re: Rehersal and Rehersal Dinner

I like Future's idea about an insert card better, classier. I hope you haven't printed out all your invitations yet. But even if you did, don't do it over. Just mail them as is because the expense to redo is so not worth it.
