Ive been working on my centerpieces.
I plan on doing tall centerpieces with flowers and a low centerpieces with candles.
I just completed my mock up of the tall one
Its going to be ivory oriental lillies with 2 green calla lil. and greenery.
Heres my first mock up. I didnt have any curly willow so I used salt branches which are not as tall and wild as curly willow. I kind of like how it turned out ...I just cant wait to see it with the tall branches

Heres the low candle centerpiece.
It will be surrounded by a lot of votives

mrspotts-I love them! they both are beautiful!! I think the candle is really going to be pretty with the votives around it!
Great job!!!
Great job on the centerpieces. I really like both of them. My only suggestion is to add an element from your tall centerpiece to your short centerpiece (or vice versa) so that you have a coordinated/cohesive look.

You've done a wonderful job mrspotts. The voitive candles on the table will give it a very romantic hue.
Aren't you the next Martha Stewart. Those centerpieces are lovely.

Thanks ladies...
Pamcrow...I was thinking the same thing. Im going to add the same marbles that are in the vase....onto the charger plate that the large candle is on. I may also criss cross 2 calla lil. as well.
I'll play around with it a little more.

2bmrspotts, try removing the orange & green berries from inside the candle holder. Since the eye is drawn to the white lilly's in your tall centerpiece, maybe place three white lillies on the charger with a little of the same foliage from the tall centerpiece. I think that would help bring the look together nicely.

Great advice Pamcrow!!!
Thanks ladies for the suggestions.
I cant wait to take my stuff home to VA and set up a mock table at the hotel next week to see how it looks against my linens

Take pictures Diva!!! It will blow your mind away at how everything comes together perfectly!!!
What do you Divas think of these? I am still planning of having 4 different centerpieces, which I will alternate on my guest tables. So I was thinking:
#1
#2
#3 I plan on having 16" Martini glasses like this, but with floating candles
areal view of floating candles
I'm still looking on the 4th look so if you ladies have an idea, please send it my way
Oh and at the base of my arrangements, I plan on having a 12" round glass mirror with Daphne Rose color voitives in square glass candle holders, wrapped in alternating Merlot or champagne colored ribbons ~ this idea courtesy of Diva Pamcrow!!! Thanks!!!
Ginoue, I'm loving #2. I always seem to be drawn to the most expensive options..LOL
"I'm a work in progress, God is not through me yet"
girl i love the second one

They are all nice but the last 1 is my fav.
Thanks Pamcrow and Housewife ~ I agree with you though, the 2nd one will be the most expensive of the lot. Thank God I'm only having 5 of #2. I'm hoping to get to the flower wholesaler early the day before to show one of my employees exactly which flowers she has to buy the next day because I'm trusting her to make the floral arrangements for me and she will supervise the entire decor of both ceremony and reception. She has worked with me now for 3 years and knows how I like things and she knows that I'm a perfectionist and only the best would do. I trust her because she's a whiz at our other events.
Sensationablyhappy ~ I plan on having 5 centerpieces made like #1
Ok Divas, here's the plan so far for centerpieces for the reception hall:
I want 5 of Centerpiece #1, 5 of Centerpiece #2, 4 of Centerpiece #3 and I've yet to pick Centerpiece #4 but I want 4 of it as well. Which will give me a total of 18 centerpieces. That's the vision I'm trying to create because we theme is "Classic Elegance". I want the room to look very fancy and romantic. I plan on having the lights in the reception hall dimmed a little, leaving just enough light for the photographers and videographers to do their thing, but I want the room to be very romantic. That's what I'm going for with the votive candles at the base of the floral arrangements. So what do you Divas think?
Sounds like its going to be very elegant and classy. Go for it.
Here's what I am thinking about doing...edible centerpieces...with candy, fruit and cake on different tables...I am thinking I will cut the fruit into flower shapes, and dip some into chocolate...and then arrange it in a flower like centerpiece on ice...what do you think?
welcome gettingmarriedin2008!
I think you centerpieces sound delicious! :)
Wow, sounds truly delish gettingmarriedin2008!!!
Edible centerpieces sounds fun and very unique. Make sure you post a pic when you do your trial run.

Where is a good place to get glass vases? I am not sure if I am putting flowers on my tables as I really like candles. Is there a place that you ladies would recommend for tall square glass vases?
The best place to get them is www.save-on-crafts.com My FH and I just ordered some vases very cheaply too. For example, we've ordered5 clear glass cylinder 12" tall for $5.79 each while other places are asking $35 to $40 a piece for them. We've also bought 6 floral vases 10 1/2" tall for $2.60 each while other places were selling them for 12.99 each
Hope you find what you're looking for. I see that they have a variety of vases. Happy hunting!!!
Thanks once again girl, you really rock!
Happy to have been able to help out Blissful
EBAY honey is a brides best friend type in vases or wedding vases you'll see different sizes and shapes and i think there cheaper than save craft
I created centerpieces by using the mini chandeliers below which I found on www.giftsforonegiftsforall.com

They are $19.95 each. These were some of the only items I was able to ship directly to St. Thomas. I bought some $3.00 small ivy garlands from Wal-Mart to wrap around the stand, added candles, and preserved orchids, and I also added acryilic "ice" and preserved rose petals to the tables. Very easy and inexpensive compared to the centerpieces we could have purchased from the hotel. It worked fabulously with the chandeliers in the room.
