Re: Decorations

I don't have pics but my decorator is using brooms decorated in our colors with silver ribbons on every other pew. The brooms are the size that you hang on your door during Halloween or Thanksgiving. Actually I can't wait to see them myself!!:)

Do you have a theme for your wedding? maybe that will help you with decorating ideas

Re: Decorations

I don't have any photos either, but we will be using satin ivory pew bows with greens, that hang down to the floor. We will be placing one on every other pew. We will also have three flower arrangements at the front of the church, as well as candles in the windows.

Re: Decorations

I think the key to church ceremonies is to keep it simple...Especially since you are in there for a short time-per my coordinator's advice...

Use the church's layout as a guide. I was fortunate to have a church that had tall windows that went from the ceiling to the floor (and were not stain glass), so the sunlight for the 10:30 AM ceremony was perfect. We did a silver arch and put a few vines and hydranges on them, and a small plant on each side sitting on a low silver stand, with the silver and white communion benches in front. We added rose petals along each side of the aisle rather than an aisle runner to add to the garden, natural theme. My floral person added tulle hanging from each pew without my knowledge or consent (but what can you do when you see this for the 1st time when daddy is walking down the aisle?), but I hate tulle and think it takes away from a natural theme since tulle is "synthetic"....so make sure the person responsible sticks to the vision you have created....she tried to put some on the arch, but I had it removed immediately....

Drawing layouts help too.

See what the church can provide you and go from there. Other things to consider and ask the church.

-Make sure the AC is working right, and continue to follow-up...if you need to order hand fans or large spinning fans, this can change how things look inside the church....
-Find out if the church will allow the photographer to move around during the ceremony so he can get the perfect shot...some churches don't.
-I have a pic of the church under bumblebee's photos. It was really simple, so if you're looking for glamour...its not a good example...

-Sometimes all you need to order are a couple of things: Communion bench, an arch, and some plant holders. We also ordered the unity candle stand and the thing that the person who lights it holds....I think our rentals were less than 100.00...Now if you want those stand with all those candles on it then you are looking at more....
