Churches in Northern New Jersey

Ok ladies I need help. I am scheduled to get married July 18th of this year at Berkeley Plaza in Berkeley Heights, NJ. I am planning on having a outdoor wedding however now I am getting scared that it might rain on that day. So that brings me to my question, Do any of you ladies know a beautiful church in the Plainfield, Newark, Summit, etc... areas where I can get married and possible bring my own pastor?

Wish I could help housewife-but I am in the Lone Star state! I still think an outdoor wedding will be great-especially in the heat of summer...

Thanks Pebbles, I will surely look into Mt. Calvary. I spoke to someone at Metropolitian and the sent me a packet to complete. As I was reading the packet it stated that I could not wear anything that was low cut in the front, back, and that I had to have something on my shoulders. My bridesmaids dresses and my dress is strapless, and I refuse to add sleeves or anything to my dress

Myself and Aijamarie (another vibride sister) got married at St. James AME Church in Newark, NJ. It is located at 588 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (973) 622-1344. I am not sure if they will let you bring your own minister, but you can call them directly to find out. All the best House!!

Housewife,
I dont know of any churches but I do know of nice Chapel setting places in close to the areas you mentioned. The Victorian Manor in Edison, Crown Plaza in Clark, and there is one other one in Clark. You can use the room even if you dont want to do your reception there. I had to do a search like that because we need a mutual place due to religious backgrounds. I know there are more, even though they are not Churches.

BTW, the Berkeley Plaza is BEAUTIFUL, my uncle was married there too and his wife used to work there.

Thanks Ladies, I checked out St. James, however the cost is $750, and I am not willing to go over 500

Just in case you may change your mind the Chapels I listed are under $500, except the VM that is $2 a person, if you need a last resort. I will keep a look out for you and best of luck finding a church.
