Re: Help!!!-how many

I would like to know the answer to this question myself. I bought enough supplies to make 200 invitations, and I invited 260 people. I am hoping for no more than 210 people though! I'm not buying any more supplies, so I hope to have enough programs to go around. I'll let the other ladies answer this one for you because I am not sure of the answer myself!

Re: Help!!!-how many

Son2bmj ~ I would suggest you wait and see if everyone will show up out of your 150 invites before you make the programs. Three weeks before your wedding though, I would buy the supplies if it's a DIY project for you. Not everyone needs a program ~ the children do not, so that will save you some paper right there, but you want to make sure that every single adult gets one, regardless of the fact that they're a couple or related. Everyone wants their own instead of looking over someone else's shoulder. With a guest list of 150, I would say that you would need no more than 125 programs because as you stated, you don't want any to go to waste. You want to make sure that each member of your bridal party receives one and you'd want to keep one for yourself to include in your album or scrapbook.

Hope that helped you a little.

Re: Help!!!-how many

TiffyB ~ in your case, I would make about 175 programs since you're expecting about 210. The younger children would not need a program as they would probably throw it away. Rule of thumb ladies when considering how many programs to purchase or buy ~ it's equivalent to the number of adults invited.

Re: Help!!!-how many

We are planning on having 150 guest that is if fh stop inviting people. so we are going to have 150-160 programs. I figured I would want one to add in my scrapbook, I know that our parents would want one, and maybe some of the members in our bridal party.

Re: Help!!!-how many

yes it is Tiffy and I am definetly feeling the stress! talked to both BM's last night and NEITHER have went to have the alterations started on their dresses :( MOH calls this morning and FINALLY goes to get her dress and the fitting which will not be completed until 3/7 (cutting it REAL close) FH is trying to make arrangements with all of the guys where they can all go get fitted at the same time (not working out too well due to everyone's schedules) so yes I am excited, but also back to feeling like-We should have just stayed with our original plan and did our Jamaica beach wedding with just me & him! :(

Soon, you will be alright. You're just feeling the stress of last minute details, that's all. Like I've said before, there's nothing wrong with a nice chilled Marguerita after a stressful day or a nice glass of bubbly!!! Take it to the tub with you and chill out!!! You'll be fine!!!

I think Ginuoe and House are right on target. Make just enough, especially of they are very intricate with color paper/print, ribbons, etc.

If you like, have someone who is over the programs take the left overs, put them back in the pretty case/basket they came in, and take it to the reception and invite those interested to take one as a souvenir. We did some "okay" programs on a nice cardstock and had some left over, but we just recycled them. Remember that even though 150 are invited to the reception, many more may come to the ceremony. Also, it IS a good idea as mentioned above to make sure friends, bridal party, and family members get one. Also one of our friends who came to the wedding late wanted one too so make sure they are available for the late-comers who are still invited to the reception...

Re: Help!!!-how many

well I ordered enough paper/vellum for 200 so I will probably do aobut 150...it is going to be a little time consuming because I am printing the monogram on the vellum and to prevent the ink from smearing I will have to feed 1 at a time :( so I guess I can go ahead and get started on that as soon as I receive the supplies because that page will be the same (just in case I have to kick somebody out! :) LOL

Girl, this is a perfect job for the bridal party! Tell them you are a little stressed and need some help....Show them how to make a few, you watch them make a few and let them go at it. I think you should get all 200 made...What are you going to do with leftovers besides provide an extra keepsake for guests?

Oh yeah, have a "project party" with the bridesmaids and let them work on any DIY projects you need produced in large quantities....you can provide the juice/cookies, and pizza:)

Bumble I wish I could!! the only local person I have her in the party is my MOH and she has not even offered to do NOTHING!!! so this is a job for little 'ole me-hell I've done everything else thus far, no reason for someone to step in and get to pat themselves on the back now! that is why I am sooo stressed and tired, because the help I THOUGHT I would have was a BIG assumption on my part :(

Soon I am so sorry about your troubles.....My definitely understand the notion of NO HELP. When I did my SIL bridal shower, me and my sister were the only ones here to help, as the bride and the other BM's were everywhere else. After so much correspondence on the planning...they constantly threw down my ideas, but insisted the bride (some who have known her longer) have a classy party....well I pulled off the all-white shingding, and a friends brand-new house and had a chef come in at a ridiculously low price, and prepare all the food because my sister was broke, and I simply didn't have the time to do it all, and the whole thing with the gifts for games costed 400.00 (50.00 per BM). I am still trying to get that money from 3 of the bridesmaids to this day!

Soon & Tiffy make sure your officiant, photographer, videographer and musicians ALL have a program to refer to during the ceremony. This will help cue them with order/timing of events.

Thanks Pam. I'll make sure my planner is aware of this.

No problem Tiffy. It's such a small detail that if overlooked could have a huge impact on the natural flow of events or even worse result in a missed or less than perfect photo opportunity.

To piggy back off Pam's comment - I would get his to them at the rehearsal so they'll be familiar ith the flow ahead of time. It may spark some ideas as they sleep on it!
