My husband teases me about my love of wedding shows and movies. There's one coming out on Jan. 9 called "Bride Wars" starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, two best friends who get engaged on the same day. They both book New York's Plaza Hotel for their events but discover that the weddings are on the same date!
So, my question is, would any of the brides-to-be consider doing a double wedding if given the opportunity? Did any of the wives consider this option especially in this economy?
Please sound-off.

Great question. Although I'm already married, I don't think I would've done anything differently. I don't think I would share my wedding day with another bride.

No way....I wouldnt do it because everyone has their own vison of how their wedding should flow and I know I would not mix with another Bride..lol!

Not me. I don't see myself sharing my day with anyone else other than my FH and family and friends. I can't see myself in a double-wedding because the way that I envisioned my wedding may not be the way she envisioned hers and then the drama of it all. Nope, not me.
The thought never entered my mind. My best friend is getting married in May. We have some the same friends, but I think the whole double wedding thing is a bit much.
Living my life like it's GOLDEN!!
No couldn't imagine sharing my day. I mean it your day you should not have worry about anyone else. My friends got on my nerves the day of my wedding with their jitters and it was my day I can't imagine having to share my day with any of them.

No way!! Hell no!! Not even with one of my sisters!! I am too greedy for that day to be my dream vision!!

Oh, that sounds beautiful, Lolo. Imagine two sisters so close they even wanted to share the most special day in their lives. I think that would have had to have been the scenario for me as well to do a double wedding. However, the opportunity didn't present itself.

I wonder of their kids will look like twins.
I could never do a double wedding either. I want ALL the presents that day..LOL
"I'm a work in progress, God is not through me yet"
The twin thing sounds like something I would pay to see. LOL
As for sharing a wedding day, I would hold a small ceremony at my parent's backyard before I cheap out and share things with another bride.

Ditto to that... Nothing I mean not even keeping the budget low would encourage me to share that day.

Our mothers are sisters and we grew up only children to the point we call each other sisters ...our mothers kept us close. She got married in June and me in December of the same year, my dad married both of us ..and we both married Antonio's. Afterwards, we was like ..we should have had a double wedding ..vow renewals we may do something small together ..we'll see :)

Diva Turiya- thats so sweet...renewals are a nice idea. Its almost your 1st anniversary I cant believe how time flies!! I remember your wedding as if it was yesterday (at least the pictures and the popcorn stories) it was great
NO WAY...I had enough trouble with just ME... :0
I saw the movie this past weekend.
Without giving the story away, it was nice. It was more than just 2 women fighting over a wedding date, it was about their friendship.
DH was glad there wasn't male-bashing, and the "chick-fight" entertained him. Yes, shame on him.

Thanks for not giving the plot away VIPrincess. I know how hard that could be. I'm planning on seeing it next weekend. I bet it's hillarious though.

ViPrincess Bride, your hubby is a jewel. I wanted to see that movie, but my hubby told me that he thought I should go with my daughter or girlfriends!

Yes, he's a sweetie. :o) I go with him to basketball games, so it's a two-way street.

I cannot even share a bench with someone so I know I cannot share my big day. It is the person. I think the double wedding is old fashioned reminds me of two sisters rushing to marry their "beaus" before they go off to war. The Civil War!

One a lighter note My Hub wants to go see the movie with me! So we're trying to make it there ...

The Big Day- December 30, 2008
Did anyone see this story on the Today Show?

These 4 sisters in a blended family from Annapolis, Maryland ALL got engaged last year, and they are all getting married this year. One got married in January. The other weddings are scheduled for May, June, and October. I guess they also said "heck no" to a double wedding.

LOL
I always wnated one. But none of my friends were even serious about anyone, much less at the weding stage. MY BFF and I always wanted to do ours together. We have the same tastes, etc. She was pretty upset that I got married ahead of her.
That girl is STILL single to this day. I would have been waiting over 15 years. lol
l know of a set of twins who married a set of twins and had a double wedding,it was one of the best weddings l have ever witnessed.
I believe that. I think I would definately marry with another couple if they were close to both me and my FH and vise versa. I know I would do it with my BF. We have very similar tastes and our idea for a wedding day was damn near identical. There would be some competition on who would rock the better dress though! lol
