So the good news, FH family really wants to attend our wedding even though its all the way in WV.
The bad news, that has pushed our guest list to over 350 people.
The solution, we are going to postpone the wedding.
My father is giving us 15K and initially we had planed to save some of that to buy our house, but with that many people it won't be possible.
So we are going to postpone the date til either this December or next August so that we can accomodate all the people we would like to be there.

Ivy that is good news! no bad news...this way your day can be that more special with both of the families there! congrats!!! :)
Sorry you have to postpone but happy to hear your future family in law want to be there. Nothing like having full family support on your big day.
Now granted you have extra time now but please please please....no more wedding dresses...LOL. Not unless you sell your others to help pay for "Thee" dress you always wanted.

Ivy, you aren't alone. FH and I just pushed our Feb. wedding back to April. My parents are in SC and his family is in Boston. And both were very skeptical about travelling in Feb. b/c of snow.
FH doesn't like the idea of waiting so it's a big possibility we will visit my pastors office for a small ceremony and still the the big ceremony in April.
Striving for better than my Best!!!
Well again djimonsmom-no bad news just GOOD news...your family support/attedance is the greatest gift! If you & FH go ahead and get married in Feb. in the Pastors office, do you think it will take away some of the "magic" on your big day in April?
Sounds like great news to me. Glad FH's family is able to make it.

Yeah I am more excited now. We have pretty much decided on January 17th of 09. Its 2 days after the anniversary of our first date and its Martin Luther King weekend so folks will have an extra day off on Monday.
My only concern is the weather in January but I'm already praying it will be alright.
We are also modifying the colors (and FH is much happier) to Black, Platinum and Navy/Midnight Blue. I think it fits with the time of year too. So I'm working on a whole new set up, but the good thing I haven't bought much pink yet just black and platinum stuff

Can't wait for Bumble to put this scheme together! LOL it sounds very pretty!
That's all great news Ivy. The new color scheme is very pretty also!
I think Rhony did navy blue beautifully. I will look for something later, but I am sure she can post some pics to give some true inspiration!

Those were my colors too, Bumble is right. The ladies wore Navy & Platinum and the men wore black tuxes with platinum accesories. It worked out quite nicely.
My brother got married in January and it can really be beautiful. I wish you guys all the best Ivy!

Thanks ladies. I'm not blown about it anymore. Of course financially the push back is working in our favor. Now we can pay everything off before the wedding. Can't make any major changes to the attire or color scheme. So it's just a matter of sending all of these update newsletters out.
Ivy, that's the main concern we had with our Feb. date- the weather. My parents retired to Myrtle Beach and they have gotten comfortable with having no snow. And his family is just nervous about being snowed IN in Boston.
We are excited but I did have my heart set on a Feb.wedding.
Striving for better than my Best!!!
Ivy the new color scheme is pretty. For some reason, midnight love was the first thought that came to mind when I envisioned it. Picturing a starry night...ooohhh how romantic.
Dijimon, remember everything happens according to God's will. The April postponement allowed you to pay some more things off before wedding and now you can take some outdoor pictures that you would have passed on in February.

Divas, now you know I have to put my 2 cents in. It sounds like great news all around if you ask me.
Ivy ~ a magical wedding with over 350 guests!!! Wow that's huge, but wonderful at the same time. Think of it this way, you could have an outdoor reception, have a really huge hall and the fun of decorating for such an event. Yes, I know that the stress level would also be up there with planning such a huge wedding, but now girl, aren't you glad you have a planner to help elleviate the stress?
Dijimonsmom ~ An April wedding in MD, all I can say is where is my invite!!! my travel time is a whole lot less than any of my sisters, as we're already neighbors. ROAD TRIP!!! Seriously though, you will be debt free by the time you get married and that's the way it should be. You don't want to start your new life together already in debt. Know that I'm here for you, whatever you need since you're not far from me at all.
Ivy - I'm loving the new colour scheme! Just look forward to the big fabolous wedding!!
holy moly 350! wow weeee! Best of luck truly with your planning, I think that extra time will be a big help!
