Sand Ceremony

Just wondering if anyone else plans to do a Sand Ceremony.

If you are doing this, will you still have alter candles or a unity candle. I thought that this would take the place if it but I wasn't sure.

Re: Sand Ceremony

We're doing the sand ceremony but will not have unity candles as well. I did see a set somewhere that had an inner cylinder with the candle and an outer cylinder where you would pour the sand. It was beautiful!

Re: Sand Ceremony

wow. I havent seen that set up
I need to google sand ceremony to get some ideas of how to set up my table to make it look really nice.

I also need to find a container that will have a lid so that I can keep it and maybe put in next to one of our framed wedding pictures in our home

Re: Sand Ceremony

When one of my bridesmaids got married she incorporated this into her ceremony and I thought it was really nice. She did this instead of the candles. I thought it was really nice because her wedding colors was pink, and white with accents of silver. So she purchased some pink sand, white sand, and silver sand. She had the container with the pink, her husband had the container of the silver, and her step son had the container with the white. She had someone read a nice poem explaining what the sand ceremony meant.
