without that first word I would be smiling from ear to ear, but I'd have to question "Ghetto"!!!!!!!! You know us--my neck would start rolling and my hand would definetly be on my hip asking the question, "what do you mean GHETTO"??????? LOL
Depends on who says it. For example, if someone at work called me that, I think I would be slightly offended. I would think they were pre-judging me becasue they don't know me that well and that doesn't go down too well with me. But at my old workplace, I knew them so well that a couple of my friends would say things like I was "ghetto fabulous" or something like that - just for a joke when I had a bit of attitude at work or got "blinged" out for a work night out. It was just for a joke, but they could get away with it coz they knew me very well and knew it was just a joke.
However, if it was someone who doesn't know me very well, I would be slightly offended to be honest....
She was close to me ...my MOH ...:) I think it was out of fun ...but the ghetto threw me off ...I would have preferred Classy Super Star! ...LOL
well ok...since it was your MOH we will give her a break...but anybody else---it would have to be some issues! :)
I don't know ladies, it's like Diamond Bride said, if it's someone that knows me very well, I wouldn't be offended to be called "Gettho Superstar" I would take it to mean that I'm a Superstar from way back. You know how we have endearing terms that may be offensive at times depending on the context in which it is used. On the same token Turiya, this was your MOH, you know she wasn't trying to be disrespectful to you in any way. Maybe it's her way of saying that you're "GhettoFabulous". Acknowledging you as a super woman ~ one with definite skills and creativity. I really wouldn't take it to heart. Don't let the term "Ghetto" throw you in this case. Now, if it comes from someone you didn't know, then, I would question the way in which she meant it.
If someone called you that with a smile and chuckle, how would you take it? ...I'm not sure ...LOL

depends on if they knew me well enough to call me that as a term of endearment or if they were trying to be a smart ass on the sly
