So here are some pics from my 1st fitting! I was a little annoyed because I put on a few lbs dues to the stress of school and planning this wedding, but I will definitely lose the weight that I gained before the big day!! The gown does fit, but I need to shed a few lbs in the waist area!! Other than that and some adjustments on the top and the bottom, the gown fits perfectly!! These pics were taken after the seamstress added the pins and bustled the back!! Enjoy:)

Thanks ladies! I don't know if you can see the pins on the top, right under my underarms where the fabric sticks out a bit, but the gown has to be taken in right at that location because it is a little to big on top. This is where it gets expensive too because they will have to work around the bead work. And the bottom just needs a small hem. Aside from that, I just want to lose some weight in my waist area just to give it a nicer fit. Can you believe this this little amount of work cost my dad $291.00!! It's really because of the work that she has to do on the top of the gown. I couldn't believe it!!

Oh yeah, thats pretty typical price-wise....I had to get the top done also, and with the bustle, some waist work here and there was 300.00. Fortunately, Phenomonique gave me a great price on a Maggie Soterro dress and I saved a lot of $$ there. Its expensive because they have to break the seams and re-do all the intricate beading a little (I had some at the top too) so it adds up! I'm glad your dad helped with that cost...we paid it all out of pocket!

Thanks again ladies! Yes, being that I am a Grad student, I am broke...lol!! I went straight from undergrad to grad school, so I never had the opportunity to work and save money in between. So I am blessed with an amazing father who is basically paying for the majority of our wedding expenses, and along with him I am blessed with a FH who is also contributing to the cost of the wedding. It is a wonderful blessing to have such amazing men in my life!! I thank God for both of them everyday.

Thank you. The gown is from Alfred Angelo. And no, I will not be wearing a veil, only a tiara! But yes, I just want to lose a few lbs in the waist area:) Thank God, this is my last year of school! It really is a strain. I am finished with this semester next Thursday, and then I have to work on my thesis next semester, and that is it!! I cannot wait to get out of here for good. But I didn't feel nervous at all while trying my gown on for the first time. I was just really excited!! It made things seem so real and so much closer!! Do you have pics to post vicky4brian? We'd love to see them:)

Girl I TOTALLY understand...I was in Grad School doing my internship when I got married this year, but it just so happened that I was working 2 jobs and doing Mary Kay while we planned the wedding....IT was VERY difficult to manage it all and keep my sanity, BUT I was able get through it with the Lord's help!!!! I also went right from undergrad to grad school but I was at the tail end of my studies and had started working both jobs in 2006. I hope my husband and I will be able to do the same for all our children as your dad is doing for you!
