Mattresses

Okay so FH and I don't live together and will be living together for the first time when we get married...Which brings to mind a question that maybe some of the married ladies could answer...

Should I get a full mattress or a queen?

Re: Mattresses

It depends on you and your fh's preferences. Personally, I opted for a queen size bed after we got married. (I had a full sized bed before I got married). We are looking to buy a home and I told my husband I wanted a king-sized bed the next time around. So it is up to you guys.

Re: Mattresses

I would go with the queen. I've had a queen for about 7 or 8 years now. It worked for us plus there was enough room for my children as they came into the world and I was nursing.

When we find a bedroom set we love we will be upgrading to a Cali King though cause FH is 6'6 and has about an inch of hang-off in our queen!

We have a queen and plan to upgrade to a king because we both always loved big beds. Plus an added benefit is when we are mad at each other, we can still sleep in same bed and not have to touch at all. Yeah, yeah I know some of you may be saying never go to bed mad at each other, but...I'm just keeping it real!!!!!

Personally, my ex-FH and I had a Cal-King for the longest time and I fell in love with it. It's also a pillow-top mattress and very comfortable. Love the space especially when you're dealing with a tall man, which he was. If you have the space, go for the pillowtop Cal-king mattress set. YOu will not regret it. If you don't have the space, go for the Queen size pillowtop mattress. Nothing screams "comfort" than a pillowtop mattress. Full size? No darling, trust me, you will be glad for the extra room.

FH and I have a Queen but he is pushing REALLY hard for a king; our Queen works fine for us ESPECIALLY when we are mad at each other! LOL (thanks for keeping it real pamcrow! :) )

I would get a queen size or even a king if you have the space for it. FH and I went to a hotel earlier this year and they gave us a full-size bed. I didn't realize how small they were.

Re: Mattresses

FH & I have a queen size extra-length bed (we're both tall) because of space issues. But after the wedding we are looking into buying a house and hopefully we can then upgrade to King size extra-length.

Re: Mattresses

3 months before our wedding my the-FH bought me a King (So I "tested it out" for 3 months ALL ALONE :)....We found a beautiful headboard at Pier 1 that was on clearance for like 230.00 and it was black so we bought it. I was sleeping in a "VERY Queenly" queen-sized wrought-iron canopy bed with cream colored bedding and hanging sheers....I miss my old bed (cause it was Queenly) but the upgrade is wonderful.

I couldn't imagine anyone who sleeps together being able to sleep comfortably in anything less than a Queen. Even though we both are not "small" we can fit 1-2 more people between us in our bed, so Kings are a lot of bed, but worth it if you can fit it in your room, plus your furniture....we got lucky cause my apartment's bedroom is humongous!

We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)
