Great taste miss thang, St. Pucchi have dreamy dresses and yes, very expensive to the tune of a down payment on your future home. I personally don't think there's anything wrong in renting your bridal gown, but instead, have you consider something truly beautiful and less expensive, such as Maggie Sotterro or Mary's Bridal etc... What is your budget for your dress? I'll look around and give you some ideas, if I know what you're working with. Let me know

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

If I could have, I would have rented a dress in a heart beat. Not just to save money but more so because I'm in no ways sentimental about the dress aspect of a wedding. Right now my dress is balled up in a trash bag in the bottom of my closet still waiting to go to the cleaners. My veil is a different story though. Since I plan to pass that down to my daughter, it is being well taken care of.

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

I am with you pamcrow on the dress thing. That is why I got a very simple dress, plus its going to be too hot for a big dress and FH and I are taking pictures while walking in the water on the beach so you know dress is going to get wet.

I think renting the dress is a good idea if you dont care for a dress. I also think finding someone to make you a replica of the dress is a good idea if you want to keep the dress. I am with Ginoue, maybe try something that cost a tad bit less? I know I am not helpin I will shut up now! lol

Hey chica. I'm getting my gowns from an ebay seller that has a store in new york that replicates gowns. You should be able to send a message to the seller and find out if they can make it for you.

How about a pic of the gown? You never know...by 2009 it may be marked down since it will not be so new by then. Nothing is like the original! However, the ladies are right....after the wedding, the lsat thing you will be doing is staring at that dress. If you get someone to make it, you need to do some hard-core searching, and prepare to pay $$$. I would have rented a dress, but its hard to deal with because you have to get it fitted and altered in a shorter amount of time...they won't let you hold the dress more than a few weeks before the wedding. Keep searching, and get familiar with your budget. You will definitely find the dress of your dreams that fits perfectly into your budget. Plus, new dresses come out every few months...another "showstopper" may appear that fits in your budget. I just don't want you to stress about it cause you actually do have some time:)

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

Yeah, lets have a look at the dress. I've started looking at dresses (really feeling Maggie Sottero) online but my wedding isn't until Feb 2009. I will go and start trying some on early next year, but it can't hurt for you to start looking now.

$9000 is way too much to pay for a dress!! As Bumble said, the dress is not what you'll be looking back after you're married. You don't mean that it is 9264 on their website do you? Because that dress is stunning!

Let us have a look and then we can see if anyone can do it cheaper!!

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

You can try this site: www.leephilipbridals.com
I ordered by BM dresses from there at a huge discount. What you do is email them with the manufacturer name and style number of the dress you want, and they'll send you a price quote back for how much they will charge you to order it. Basically, it's internet-only sales, so they don't really have as many overhead charges as a brick-and-mortar store would. That's how they can sell you the gowns at great prices. The woman's name is Stacey who runs the company.

OMG ~ The dress is absolutely stunning, I agree, but it most certainly can be replicated for the budget price that you're talking about. Find yourself a seamstress who specializes in wedding dresses or definitely a replica store. $9000+ is definitely too much to spend on a wedding dress, even if you have the money to burn.

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

Are you sure 9264 is the price? I'm asking because its the style number. Also, I did a Google search and it seems as if everyone looking for this gown has only received replaies from replica-gown manufacturers. I would contact one of their "exclusive salons" and get a price on it.

Re: Real/Replica/Rent

I'll tell you what. If your heart is set on the dress, make moves to start getting it done now with the intention of having it paid for and completed by Nov 2008 at the latest. Make sure she is reputable...If you want to, I'd probably buy a replica from people who makes replicas. But if you want it made, get working on it today, and as far as the dressmaker is concerned, you need it by 2008, not 2009...because that will give you some room for plan b in case it doesn't work out....but I am thinking it will with proper planning. You can have anything you want when you plan ahead, and make demands with no room for complacency from any dressmaker. Get a quote, and a detailed plan from her, along with a contract that you draw up detailing a timetable and clause for no payment until the dress is complete. 10% down and the rest upon completion. But don't be scared honey...this is your wedding!

Beautiful dress. I would suggest searching ebay. I had a girlfriend who found the picture of a gown she wanted and actually found a seamstress on ebay and spent $100 for her gown. It was stunning. I found my gown online for $199 and it is exactly what I wanted.

I knew it was that dress - it is really beautiful, so check out your local stores and check out the price because it isn't $9000!!

I'm sure you will be able to find someone to make a replica if you search hard enough. You're lucky that time is on your side....
