Piggy backing off of Soon2bride's good news-how long did you guys wait for a proposal or how long will you wait? did you set any specific time frames when you got serious with FH/DH.
I myself had decided that I did not want to get married again; FH on the other hand had never been married and after our dating/hanging out for awhile he told me that he did not want a "friend" he was looking for a wife and if I would not consider rethinking my marriage position, then maybe he needed to move on (which really woke me up) I prayed about our situation for months before I did tell him that I would consider it again but not at that time due to me coming out of my storm and I didn't want my love for him to be a "dependent" love because he had been my comforter but a "true" love because thru my spiritual growth and life growth I realize the importance of marriage and I want it to be God's will and not my will. Needless to say after about 1 year we did start talking about it again and he proposed and of course the rest is history...

FH and I met in Grad School in 2002, and starting seriously dating within a couple of months, so we have been dating for 5 years and 3 months as of today. We discussed marriage while we were dating, and knew that we would get married one day, but we both wanted to finish school first. Well I am still in school due to some personal set backs, so he proposed October 1, 2006, the day before my birthday last year. So we dated 4 years and 2 months before we became engaged!

Amen! see THIS is what I am talking about!! HIS will--not YOURS!! :)and I applaud you for waiting, because alot of women that just WANT to get married will do it alot of times even though they know it is not the right thing/time and cause themselves more heart/headache!

I met my husband in 1988 at a dinner party for a mutual friend. He followed me around all night really getting on my nerves. I told him that if he didn't have the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation he could ge lost! Well brotha man let me know that he was educated -- lol!!!! We have been engaged twice before the last time, so I definitely agree with you ladies when you talk about God's timing. We got engaged for the last time (lol!!!) in November 2004 and we got married in November 2006!
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
DH and I met June 2002, became exclusive October 2002, broke up briefly August 2005, became engaged February 2006 and married April 2007.
