Those brides who have children, are you giving them a piece of jewelry or doing a special ceremony to incorporate them in the wedding? My husband and I presented my daughter with this ring. she will have it to remember that day and she felt like she was really a part of the ceremony as well.

The ring has her birthstone in the middle and me and my husbands names, our birthstones on either side of hers; and our wedding date on the inside of the band.

Beautiful ring, Rhony! I would like to give our kids something but I haven't decided what yet. Any suggestions? (His- boys, I mean men is 19 and 18. Mine- girls 15 and 13 (both going on 25) lol!)

Thinking of giving the boys (13, 11, 7) maybe pocket watches, and the girls (19, 2) maybe a locket. We're trying to give them something the can have as heirlooms to pass on to their children in the future - and it better be WAYYYYY in the future for the 19yo!
we were going to do the birthstone ring but with 5 kids between us it was to expensive. We were going to just do one stone for the month of April with our last name on one side of stone and wedding date on the other. Since that was to expensive, we just had each of our children participate in unity candle portion of ceremony. After me and DH lit our candle each of our children came up in age order to light their own individual candle off our flame.

Hey plat, you could give the young men engraved money clips, or watches and your little ladies a ring or necklace.

What a wonderful way to incorporate your children in your ceremony. I am sure they will remember it for the rest of their lives. Very nice!

My FH has a girl age 7 and I have a girl age 5. We do not have any children together. He will present my daughter with a necklace and I will present his daughter with one and we both will read a promise to each child to be loving step parents so on and so on.

yeah, the blended ceremony is kinda like that:
Blended Family Ceremony #1
Officiant Remarks: It is the desire of _________ and _________ to extend their commitments to each other by making some promises to the children of this family. As you all join hands to form a new circle of love, we will seal this union with spoken promises like the rings this bride and groom have exchanged.
Officiant to the Bride/Groom: Do you _________ and _________, promise to be faithful, loving, tender and nurturing parents, always there for _________ (child/children's name), not only providing their/her/his physical needs, but their/her/his emotional needs as well, always a good listener, a loving counselor and a friend?
Bride & Groom: We do.
Officiant to the Mother/Father (Speaking to the Child/Children): (Repeat after me). _________, I want you to know that I love your mother/father very much. I will not and cannot replace a mother/father loved by you, however I can promise you that I will love you and care for you as if you were my own. I promise to be a committed listener. I promise you my trust, to be fair, my support, what knowledge I can share, to be your friend, and to provide a shoulder to cry on. I promise to be available to you as I am to your mother/father.
Bride/Groom to Child/Children: _________, I give you this _________ (gift) as a sign of my loving promises made this day.
Officiant to Child/Children: Do you accept the promises made by _________?
Child/Children: I do or We do.
Officiant: May a kind God now bless you all as family, and bless this marriage and this home, wherever you may be.
Thank you so much... thats the same thing I said.. I will definitly be emotional during that part of the ceremony.
