Hi ladies, I've been away for a minute, but I was wondering what are some of the themes of your weddings. (this topic may have been covered before, if so I'm sorry :-)

Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
i don't actually have a "theme" either...the ceremony will be decorated with brooms (for jumping the broom) the reception is not really a theme-but I will have a monogram cake topper, napkins have monograms, and favors are decorated wedding brooms with a monogrammed favor tag...
I don't have an exact theme but I'm incorporating the following:
Flowers - Calla lillies
Circles - Monogram, Invitations, Save-The-Date Christmas Cards, centerpieces
It isn't necessary to have a theme. I started out with one "Victorian Elegance", but when I think about it, I don't know if I pulled it off or not. LOL!!!!

I wanted my wedding to have a "Spring Garden Romance" feel so we did the double hearts on the stationary and programs for romance....We tried to get the Spring Feel with the date which was in March, and the colors: Tiffany/Pool Blue. We tried even more to get a garden type feel by adding flowers (Roses and hydrangeas) in the yellow/buttercup family instead of just the tiffany blue and white all around. We added more garden elements by adding a silver arch with scrolling, and putting some green vines and yellow hydrangeas on it. It wasn't completely covered...We also lines the aisle with white and off-white rose petals instead of using an aisle runner to create a pathway...
The spring garden romance feel was just something I wanted the guests to feel, but looking back 7 months later I guess we did pull it off too.
Oh yeah, DH wanted a formal romantic feel, so he opted for his groomsmen to do black tuxedoes while he did white....my dress was very very formal with lots of material, and a sweetheart neckline, and I did a very fancy necklace with lots of rhinestones, but a simple headband that "appeared" to be a tiara....
My theme is Tropical Romance. Thinking evening wedding in a garden with lots of candles under a draped pavilion. Our colors will be burnt orange/chocolate. Burnt orange for the sunset and chocolate because I thought the two colors would look good together. The venue is www.butterflyhouse.org if anyone would like to see. ;) If you ladies have any ideas for my theme.....please shout them out. :-)
We haven't specified a theme either, but candles will be featured at both the ceremony and the reception. Our wedding will be in March in Pittsburgh, at 4:30pm, so it will be fairly dark outside, well, the sun won't be shining brightly! There are windows along both sides of the church, so I have decided to include a small candle in every other window, and also a couple of candles in the front, placed between ferns that are provided by the church. My sister and I thought it might be a nice idea to dim the lights a little, not too much, just enough to give it a romantic feel! Our reception will have the same concept, slightly dimmed lights with candlelight.
My them is Love. Our invitations and programs have 1 Corinthians 13:7-8 (Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, . . .Love never fails.)
The attire and decor will be romantically elegant
Love lights even the darkest of paths.
What Fire doesn't destroy, only makes stronger.
Even when you don't know; God knows. I will be still and let Him do His thing.
Alone in the world; but always in the company of the Lord.

As some of you may already know - our theme is "Caribbean Valentine". We have a Caribbean feel to the wedding - colours are white, champagne gold (for the sand) and aqua blue / turqoise (for the sea). We are getting married on Valentine's day 2009 in England - hence the Valentine's theme. Having a steel band playing at reception drinks and now the musician is playing conch shells after dinner. Once I get a link, I'll post it on the site so you can listen to it!
To round of Caribbean theme, having a blessing in St Lucia the weekend after for all the family in St Lucia and USA. Can't wait!!
