[quote="Ginoue"]Too many stupid accidents are being caused by those stupid GPS. Before they came out with them, we were just fine, weren't we. Sorry, just venting because they're been too many senseless deaths associated with those things so far.

I thought I was the only one that felt this way about GPS.

Diamond, I cant wait to your wedding photos afterwards. Your ideas are fabulous!

Well we had the (2nd) engagement shoot - we had a blast! I know the circumstances in which we lost our original photographer were tragic, but I really think we ended up with a better photographer. She's very different, but very creative. Let me know what you guys think of our brand new engagement shots.......

I haven't seen the first engagement photos to compare, but I think these are beautiful. Your wedding photos should be wonderful.

Again, Congrats to you and Glen Kizzy.

You other photos were gorgeous but I agree with you that these are better. Your new photographer has an excellent photojournalistic style. They really captured the emotions of the moment. This is proof that God never takes something from us without giving us something more in return.

Dreamgurl - I've got my dress but I need a hooped underskirt I think - It's a bit long. I thought if I had high shoes, it would be ok. Finally got my turquoise shoes from David's Bridal - they're too big!! I'm going to put something at the heel so they fit ok.

Oh my god - 23 days to go!!!!!

Diamondbride- make sure that the shoes are comfortable. Walk around with them for a couple of hours when FH isnt home (for example)- They might look nice, but make sure that you can still even wear them comfortably...wouldnt want a little problem like your feet to cause you any discomfort on your day

Re: Diamond Bride's blog....(at last!!!)

Well, ladies - it's just one drama after another! I am not gettng stressed at all (except when I wake up in the middle of the night wondering how we are going to afford this wedding!)

My bridesmaid dresses are being made by a family friend of my FH - we call her "Aunty". She has known since October 2008 that there are 5 dresses to make and most of them were measured in November. She kept telling me "there's no rush - it will not take me long to make these dresses". You can see the type of dress we wanted for the bridesmaid towards the beginning of this post.

Anyway, the months have been rolling by, and the girls have been attending for further measurements and we had the third fitting scheduled for last Saturday. I rang Aunty and asked if they were all ready for the final fitting - she said they were. So I collected all of my bridesmaids and we headed to her house for the final fitting. When we got to the door, Aunty said "I bet you've brought the one whose dress isn't finished!"

Turns out the none of the dresses were really finished, but one of them only had a front piece. My friend (whose dress was not finished) was not impressed and was really rude to Aunty - saying she could have stayed at home and she had wasted her time. My friend just sat down and said she didn't care whether she had her dress and went on her cell phone! It got to the point where the rest of us were so embarrassed at her behaviour that we couldn't wait to get out of there.

I understood where my friend was coming from, but she did not have to express herself in that way - especially to someone she doesn't know. The rest of the dresses were ill fitting and longer than we had measured.

When we finally left Aunty's house, we were talking about the wedding and 2 of my bridesmaid complained that this wedding was stressful! The cheek of it all! Do they even know how stressful it is to plan a wedding? They are complaining becasue they have to do their hair, buy shoes, plan the hen night - you would think they would have fun doing it!

Anyway, I think this is what happens when you have 5 bridesmaids who all want different things and you try to find some sort of compromise.

Sorry to rant for so long, but I feel like I don't know what to do with these girls....and we've got the hen night this Saturday!

DiamondBride, sorry to hear about the drama you faced but girl its always gonna be something to try and stress you out at the last minute. TRUST ME...Everything will workout just fine. Your girls will come through for you even AUNTY will come through, so dont worry or stress yourself out over this, its a normal thing. I think it happens to most brides.
Well 18 days left, how's the other planning coming along?

What kind of alterations did you have? It sounds like you needed to hem the gown to match the height of your shoes. I have no experience wearing a hooped underskirt, so I don't know how well this will work. Try it and see if you like the width it gives the bottom of your gown.

The gown is beautiful. Does it have a silver hue to it? The cake is so pretty. I may have to borrow your heart candle idea around the cake table if I can find them in purple. You must be excited with less than a month to go. It looks like all is in place & you did a great job!

These three remain; faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Cor

Hey Diamondbride...we all have friends like that!! But dont worry about that, as long as your Aunty know what kind of person YOU are she will not hold it against you, and probably understands that you cannot control how another grown ass woman acts. Secondly how are the dresses coming along, and no dont panic about that, some people are more productive under pressure, so you will be suprised when things start falling into place.
Whats up for the Hen night?? You are so lucky its finally here...remember that and savour it, because the time goes by so fast (dont let BM drama take that away from you..or anything else for that matter)

Wow, 17 more days!!! How time flies, right? Anywhoo, it wouldn't be a diva wedding if something didn't stress you out. The thing is to just let it roll off of you. They're just being very mean spirited. I can understand how she feels about not having her gown fitting to perfection and finding an unfinished gown at that, but we all agreed that she could've handled it way better. If she acts like she hasn't got any home training, that's her. I know your Aunty won't hold it against you. You'll be just fine, girl. Don't worry. You'll be a most magnificent bride.

Re: Diamond Bride's blog....(at last!!!)

Well, had the 1st hen night last weekend. This was a "family and friends" bridal shower. It was so lovely! We played games and did "Mr and Mrs" quiz and every single one of my family and friends gave speeches and advice on married life and relationships. They all described how they knew me and every one was so nice about me - I never knew they all cared so much. I was particularly moved by speeched given by my mother in law (who described how FH and I met and how happy she was that we were together), my sister in law (who called me her "sister" and extended member of the family), my cousins (who said how proud they were of me and they know we will have a happy marriage) and my best friends (who also called me their "sister" and they were glad I had found the "One"). I was so moved, I almost shed a tear!

ROLL ON THIS WEEKEND FOR HEN NIGHT NO. 2......!!!

****UPDATE!!!!*********

Well, we had the second hen event last weekend. My maid of honour told me that we were going to the spa - just me and her to relax. I didn't mind that because I kind of needed a rest. We drove to a little coffee shop at the airport - I thought it was a bit strange that we were at the airport, but she told me that the coach was picking us up from there.
Anyway, we had coffee and I told her I wanted to look at some new suitcases for the honeymoon. She insisted that we go to the coach straight away> I wondered why she was being so miserable, and when we turned the corner, I heard "SUPRISE!!! My bridesmaids and friends had got together to arrange a suprise trip to Dublin, Ireland for a hen weekend! I was so shocked - I always find out everything! How exciting.....but I didn't have my passport, clothes or anything. Turns out that FH was in on this too! He and my maid of honour had planned this - he packed my suitcase with clothes, gave her my passport and managed to keep this a secret for 3 months! I can't believe tjhey did that!  I told FH that it was little things like this that made me sure I love him and want to marry him!
We had a fantastic girls holiday - drinking, lots of dancing, laughter, and the best friends and family a girl could ask for!
On a separate note, mum and dad have arrived from St Lucia, the wedding cakes are finished, bridesmaid dresses are finished. all the boys have their suits and I finally got an underskirt for my wedding dress that lifts my dress a couple of inches from the floor (it was too long!). Everything is finally coming together....... The rehersal is booked for Wednesday evening. I'll let you guys know how it goes........

Wooow, a surprise trip to Dublin, how nice!!! You have some really good friends. And you were wondering why they were so stressed, lol.  I'm happy your aunty got the dresses finished in time. I can only imagine what you must have been feeling at that last fitting. So just a couple more days to go and you're a MRS !! Any last minute things you still need to do?

Is anybody there??

HI guys!

It's been a minute since I've been on here. I even forgot my password!! But I wondered if any of the old members were still on here (like Ginoue, Phenomonique, Dreamgurl, Butterbean, DaughterRhonda, cmt, futuremrskeepup, deelove, soon2bmsj, bumblebeekee, pamcrow - there were so many of you!!)

I was looking through my old blogs and the advice you guys gave to me during the planing of my wedding and blessing in St Lucia and i realise that it was fun chatting to you all! I kinda miss having a wedding to plan, just so that I could get involved in the forums!

Are any of you guys still on here? And to the newer members..... nice to meet you!! It seems a shame that the forums are not used as often as they used to be. Let's try and get things going again with some new topics ("What do you say Rosie??!!")

Lots of love,

DiamondBride xx
