what is an appropriate gift to give to the attendants that will be signing in guests, passing out programs and helping with the gift table?

Re: gifts

I think it should be small but a meaning full gift. You could consider personalized gifts or a gift that is just something they would really want that is not expected like a vase or a colorful silk photo album.

Re: gifts

Maybe you can get them gift cards to their favorite store or restuarant and put it in a thank you card.

I agree, that way you will give them something that they will use.

My bank card is also a leisure rewards card so I am using the points to give the ushers $100 Footlocker gift cards and the Hostess $50 gift cards to Bath & Body Works. They will all think that I am the best thing since sliced bread (yep that's right SLICED BREAD -lol)

How about getting them some gear from dangerousnegro.com. All of their stuff has a real postive message and it's not really expensive. You could get everybody a t shirt with a cool message on it

Re: gifts

I'm telling you that site is off the chain! Also, and I completely forgot but Christianbook.com has great books, bibles, clothing, home items, I even registered there. And c28.com has great modern Christian clothing with scriptures and great messages too. I'm sorry I forgot to mention those sites but I'm sure you'll love them.

Trust me I'm not doing it big. I get 4 points for every dollar I spend using my card as a Visa. I pay all the bills that I can using the card (as long as they don't charge an online fee) plus I transfer the money from my wedding account when I get ready to purchase something, using the card. It doesn't take long to accumulate points. Basically, paying my bills, buying groceries, and the wedding expenses will take care of the gift cards.

HeCallsMeAbeni I got my program paper from Christian Book and I think that Christmas shopping will be done at dangerousnegro.com. Thanks. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!

Re: gifts

Well, what I plan on doing is buying my gift bags from the oriental trading company. I want to buy the ones that have a message on the front of them in rhinestone. They cost 14.95 for a dozen. Then I plan on buying a bunch of lotions and bubble bath that cost .99 from avon, and a gift card for their nails. I am going to fill up the gift bags with everything and hope they enjoy it.I have no clue what we are going to get the guys. Everything for them is so plain

Don't cheap up on the people who help you. This is where you should SPEND money. You are going to see them everyday. Why give them something funky? Also they spend a lot just to be in your wedding. I don't think $50 - $100 a person is unreaasonable. Just get things a bit at a time rather than all at once to that it is more affordable.

CHEAP UP???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sista we are paying for our own wedding. We are on a budget. If YOU got got, work it.
I'm not saying buy one lotion and one bubble bath. From my understanding paying for six ladies to get there nails done and buying their jewelry for the wedding is NOT cheap.

Re: gifts

I agree, you can only do what you can afford cause for some even 50-100 pp is a lot if you are running into 5+ attendants (male and female each). For many people, there are so many in the wedding party because they provide HELP from their own hearts simply because resources ARE an issue-therefore that amount of money is impossible for that many attendants. So for everyone who sees this, this is something to think about....But you still should do SOMETHING. If you look at the budget and 25.00 pp is the best you can do, then take time and search for the best $25.00 gift you can find....and its possible....But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put it in the budget! I've seen people spend 100.00 per gift on crap, and beautiful things as a gift for 15-25.00 per person. My husband found these very nice BBQ grilling sets for 20.00 last summer that came in a very nice case for his groomsmen. Also, Things Remembered also has some nice gifts that can be personalized for an extra fee, but also very inexpensive. So there are ways to stretch that 20.00 bucks...Also if you are getting their nails or hair done for example, put the cost of these things in the form of a pretty gift certificate....some salons will agree to let you create one yourself if they don't have a nice one you like, as long as you have the reciepts for everything...You can then present them to the attendants at an earlier date if the rehearsal dinner is too late to present these nice surprises for them...

Re: gifts

I agree-i know I cannot afford 50-100 pp and my wedding party knows it too! LOL I am not going to go CHEAP but inexpensive gifts are sometimes much more appreciated as long as there is a meaning behind it...each gift I give weather large or small will represent how they have affected my life so even though it is not going to be expensive, it will be meaningful... (ex: my MOH is getting a crystal engraved friends poem ($16.99)

Re: gifts

I agree with you atownswifey. I too am paying for my own wedding. I can't possibley afford $50+pp. I don't like "cheap" gifts and don't plan on giving any. I don't think any of us are going to give anything that we would not like to receive in return. My attendants are late teens and early twenties and approached me about becoming attendants. They are some of the best kids I know and would appreciate anything I gave them. I guess it's because they truly understand the struggle. We all have to live after the wedding.

Re: gifts

If you are giving gifts to your parents, readers/singers/etc. you could give them their gifts then as well. I'm actually giving my attendants their gifts beforehand in private and we're not doing parents' gifts.
