Well, it's exactly one month away from my wedding, and I guess it's about time to begin my blog. When I look at the calendar and see how close it's getting, I feel this twinge of panic/anxiety/excitement in my chest, almost like I cannot breathe! Here are the top things I have left to do at this point ...
-- Make final decisions on the ceremony order and music
-- Go get the marriage license with FH
-- Find a wedding gift for FH
-- Pay the final catering bill
-- Have my final dress fitting
-- Wrap all the attendant and parent gifts
-- Make the ceremony programs
-- Assemble the favors
-- Get these damn hard-headed groomsmen to go get measured for their tuxes!!!

Bama you're doing great time wise. Try to complete as much as you can within the next two weeks so you'll have time to sit back and relax.

Arrrrrghhhhhh!!! If I get one more stinkin' RSVP card back from a guest whose invitation didn't say anything close to "...and Guest", but they are bringing someone with them, I am going to blow my top!!! What is wrong with people?! How have you ladies who've already been through this part handled this problem?

My heart goes out to you bamabride. One thing I don't do is wrap presents when there is are gift bags. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. But what I can do is say a prayer for you.

Exactly 3 weeks to go, and after stressing myself silly over the past week or so about every little detail, I've officially adopted a new attitude: As long as at the end of they day, my fiance and I are pronounced husband and wife, I don't care if the cakes fall over, the flowers wilt or rain pours from the sky. I have planned down to the nitty gritty for months now, and at this point, things are falling into place and I will no longer worry about what could go wrong!
So, here's a status check on things accomplished:
--Today is deadline for RSVPs, and we will have a LOT of calls to make. We've received 122 responses, but there are 128 folks we haven't heard from.
--FH and I went to get our marriage license last week.
-- I had my final gown fitting yesterday. It was a beautiful, perfect fit!
-- We've finalized order of ceremony, readings and music
-- We will be paying the final catering bill on Monday. YAY!
-- All groomsmen and ushers have been measured and have paid tux deposits. Halleluja!
-- Sent a "wedding bulletin" (newsletter) to all of the wedding party, ushers, hostesses and parents with full info about the wedding weekend, including a detailed timeline of the wedding day events.
Still left to do:
-- Make the programs
-- Wrap/gift-bag the attendant and parent gifts
-- Assemble the favors
-- NEW ITEM: send invitations to the rehearsal dinner. I just decided to do this b/c there are some people we want to attend who are not in the wedding party, and I thought this would be a smart thing to do. They'll be very simple and inexpensive, though.
Exhale. It's all coming together. I'm SO excited!!!!!
