Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, well as an official member that is. I have been coming to this site quite often since I got engaged on October 1, 2006! I figured it was time that I join, as my countdown is approaching six months, and my date of March 15, 2008 will be here before I know it!! So a little about myself, I am currently working toward my Master's in Architecture at the University of Florida in Gainesville while also planning my wedding. It is a lot of work, but I managed to check a lot of wedding

Wow, let me be the first in welcoming you to this site TiffyB. You're about halfway there. I know it has not been easy juggling school and planning a wedding, but when all is said and done, you need to congratulate yourself for keeping with your timeline. I wish you and your FH lots of luck in the months to come. One question, where will you and your FH reside after the wedding? You mentioned that he's currently in GA.
Welcome TiffyB! Congrats on the upcoming wedding. We ladies are here for whatever you need! Architecture huh? Maybe you can design an addition on my house as a thesis project! LOL j/k!
Thank you Ginoue and FutureMrsKeepUp for the welcoming words! I have to say I've been reading all of your posts for awhile now, and all of you are so funny!! So anyways, my FH and I will be residing in Atlanta once we are married. I really love it up there. Florida is entirely too hot and humid, so I could never see myself making a home here. And by the way FutureMrsKeepUp, I'm actually working on my thesis project right now. I'm researching film and architecture as tactile arts. I'm just getting started, so I haven't quite narrowed down exactly what my project will be.

Good luck with your thesis.
welcome TiffyB! I am also getting married on 3/15/08!!!!!!!
Welcome TiffyB! I know how difficult it can be to plan things with FH somewhere else! I am in the same boat with you my FH is in Atlanta also and I am in NJ! I too will be moving there after we marry! Glad to have you around welcome to the fun that is VIBRIDE!
Each One Teach One!
Welcome tiffyb! I also am in the same boat my FH is in Fla and I am in TN. We are not sure where we are going to be after we get married. He is considering going full-time active duty so it's where ever they station him. Pray for us!!!
All things worked together for my good...
Ooooohhh, another 3/15/08 bride, how exciting!! So will your wedding be in Dallas soon2bmsj? Ieasha and QT4evr, you are definitely right about the difficulties of planning a wedding from a different state. Luckily, my sister, who is also my MOH, lives in Pittsburgh, so she has been a wonderful source of help. I have been up that way 3 or 4 times since I've been engaged, and in that time I have pretty much checked the major items off of my list, so I am very thankful for that. So Ieasha, which part of Atlanta does your FH live in? Kyle is in College Park, but once I get a job, we may have to move a little closer to the city depending on my job location. I cannot wait to move up there!! QT4evr, I will definitely pray for you and your FH and your future living situation, and just your situation in general with him possibly going full-time active duty. Thanks ladies!!

How funny is that my FH is in College Park also but he doesn't want to live closer to the city. Oh but we will be moving because I dont like where he is right now! lol

That is really funny that your FH lives in College Park! It's funny to that you say you are moving because you don't like where he lives, I hear that...LOL!! I don't mind where my FH lives, but I would prefer to move. He says that we will wait and see where I get a job, and just go from there. I myself prefer the Marietta/Smyrna area, but we'll just have to wait and see!! He used to work in Marietta, but he was bored with his job, and he was kind of tired of the commute, so he now works in College Park, so I'm sure he'd prefer not to move too far away from his job, now that he is only minutes away.

Welcome Tiffy, we're happy to have you!
Welcome TiffyB!
I am also a March bride (Well this Past March: 3/3/07)/...Its still a very nice time of year no matter where you are....March is about the beginning of Springtime...where everything starts anew....UF huh!?! I live in Tallahassee and just finished my second degree from FSU. My husband is a Rattler, with a heart for UF. I actually was born at Shands (I think thats why he decided to date me despite being a Seminole)....We are diehard football fans so until FSU and UF play, we root for them both....however sometimes reluctantly...Talk plenty of trash, but we have fun with it....We at FSU still miss Steve Spurrier....
You are in good company though, and feel free to browse past posts-because some of your questions may be answered there...or ask them here. You will see quickly the vibrides here are a talented bunch with lots of heart and love:)

Welcome to the boards. This is a great site(as you already know from just being a guest). Congrats on your big day and don't worry about the cold mountain air or snow up there in Pitt all that matters is that you are marrying the one you love. I can you send you a hot philly cheesesteak to melt some of that snow up there!:)))

Thanks again ladies for making me feel so welcome!! Mrsmoose091308, I just might have to take you up on that hot Philly cheesesteak offer...one to melt the snow, and one to put in my tummy:) Bumblebeekee, my FH is a Rattler also!! He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2002. He is a Gator also, UF is actually where we met:) But anyways, glad your husband accepted your FSU status!! I am a football fan too, but I am a Wolverine at heart!! I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, so that's who I truly root for! I still cheer for the Gators, but if it comes down to the Wolverines and the Gators, sorry UF...LOL!
But I have definitely been browsing through past posts, and have found some very valuable info, and have also seen some nice pics! Thanks for the advice.

I'm also new to the site! Despite being a member since the beginning of 2007, it's taken me a while to pluck up the courage to post something! By way of a bit of background, me and FH live in the UK but our families are orginally from St Lucia. Our parents have known each other for years and I knew FH many years ago when we were a lot younger. Many years later, after coming out of a 7 year relationship that was going nowhere, I saw FH's mother and she re-introduced me to FH. We went on three dates and after the third date, we realised we were in love. We've been inseparable ever since and it feels so right that we are finally planning our wedding. We are getting married on 14th February 2009 - corny, I know but it is the first time in a long time that Valentine's day is on a Sat!
It has been so good to read all about how you guys planned your weddings and I hope I can become a part of this wonderful close knit community of ViBride sisters!!

Welcome. I believe that this is by far the most friendly and helpful site on the web. I have becme so "addicted" that I may need some counseling or a support group after it all said and done. LOL
