Hey Ladies...I came across this article the other day and was in complete shock. What do you ladies think about this?
As stated by yahoo news...
ROCHELLE, Ga. - A woman was arrested after she called police to help "get her money back" after she was unhappy with the crack cocaine she purchased.
Juanita Marie Jones, 53, called Rochelle Police late Thursday night after she purchased what she thought was a $20 piece of crack cocaine, according to police reports.
She told officers she broke the rock into three pieces and smoked one, only to discover the drugs were "fake."
She took Officer Joel Quinn and Deputy John Shedd of the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office into her kitchen and showed them the drugs, police said.
She was promptly arrested on charges of possession of cocaine.

Guard Uses Taser on Man Holding Newborn
Aug 14, 6:06 PM (ET)
By JUAN A. LOZAN
HOUSTON (AP) - In a confrontation captured on videotape, a hospital security guard fired a stun gun to stop a defiant father from taking home his newborn, sending both man and child crashing to the floor.
Now the man says the baby girl suffers from head trauma because she was dropped.
"I've got to wonder what kind of moron would Tase an adult holding a baby," said George Kirkham, a former police officer and criminologist at Florida State University. "It doesn't take rocket science to realize the baby is going to fall."
The April 13 episode began when William Lewis, 30, said he and his wife felt mistreated by staff at the Woman's Hospital of Texas so they decided to leave. Hospital employees told him doctors would not allow it, but Lewis picked up the baby and strode to a bank of elevators.
The elevators would not move because wristband sensors on each baby shut off the elevators if anyone takes an infant without permission.
Lewis, who gave the video to The Associated Press, said his daughter landed on her head, but it cannot be seen on the video. He said the baby continues to suffer ill effects from the fall.
"She shakes a lot and cries a lot," Lewis said, noting doctors have performed several MRIs on the child, Karla. "She's not real responsive. Something is definitely wrong with my daughter."
It was not clear whether the baby received any electrical jolt.
Child Protective Services has custody of the baby because of a history of domestic violence between Lewis and his wife, Jacqueline Gray. The infant does not appear to be suffering any health problems from the fall, agency spokeswoman Estella Olguin said.
David Boling, an off-duty Houston police officer working security at the hospital, and another security guard can be seen on the surveillance video arriving at the elevators and trying to talk with Lewis. Lewis appears agitated as he walks around the elevators holding his daughter in his right arm.
Within 40 seconds of arriving, Boling is holding the Taser. He walks around Lewis and whispers to the other guard, who moves to Lewis' right side.
About a minute later, Boling can be seen casually standing near Lewis, not looking in his direction, when he suddenly raises the Taser and fires it at Lewis, who was still holding his daughter.
Lewis drops to the floor. The other guard, who has not been identified, scoops up the baby and gives her to the child's mother, who was standing nearby in a hospital gown.
The guard then pulls Lewis to his feet with his arms locked behind him. Lewis' T-shirt has two holes under the left side of his chest where the Taser prongs hit him.
Lewis said he did not see the stun gun.
"My wife said we want to leave and then he just Tasered me," Lewis said. "He caused me to drop the child."
In a statement, the hospital said Lewis was hostile and uncooperative toward staff members who were trying to find out his relationship to the infant when they saw him trying to leave. Neither Lewis or Gray had indicated they wanted a discharge, according to the statement.
"Mr. Lewis became verbally abusive by using vulgar expletives. When Mr. Lewis' behavior became threatening, endangering the infant and employees, licensed law enforcement officers followed their professional standards to protect those involved," the statement said.
Lewis was arrested and charged with endangering a child. A grand jury in May declined to indict him on that charge, but charged him with retaliation, accusing him of making threats against Boling.
Lewis also has been charged with a second count of retaliation alleging he made a threatening call to Boling at his home.
Lewis denies both charges. He said he is considering suing the hospital but has not filed any legal papers.
Houston police spokesman Gabe Ortiz said the department did not investigate the officer's role, and he declined to elaborate. Boling did not immediately respond to a request for comment given to the police department.
Some 11,000 U.S. law enforcement agencies use Tasers, which some experts say are increasingly being used as a convenient labor-saving device to control uncooperative people.
"The Taser itself is a legitimate law-enforcement tool," Kirkham said. "The problem is the abusive use of them. They're supposed to be only used to protect yourself or another person from imminent aggression and physical harm. They're overused now."

I was shocked, angered and saddened at what I just read at essence.com about Prophetess Juanita Bynum. She was attacked by her minister husband in an ATL hotel parking lot here's the link to the story:

Wow! I'm sorry to hear about what happened to Juanita Bynum. I pray for an emotional and physical healing for her.
Born Blessed!
I heard about that on Tom Joyner. So sad! Here's another heartbreaker, the story of the Jena 6: http://jenasix.org/timeline.html
I heard about that. Damn shame that after all these years, people still teach their children to hate others because of their race. Pure ignorance!

Wow! Some of you are too young to remember The Movement of the 60s. I do and that's the kind of thing that was marched about, sat in for and protested against. After all this time, you'd think we'd learned a lesson. "We Shall Overcome"....I hope I get to see it in my lifetime.
I was in the first group of blacks to intergrate here and I'll never forget a white girl telling me she couldn't play with me because I was colored. We were in school together for the next 10 yrs and when she got married the first time, I was her musician. She's been married 4 times since then and all her DH's have been-you guessed it! Colored! I guess she overcame her color blindness!
What God has joined together let no man put asunder...
I was born in the 70's but remember some of the stories that my mom told us about growing up in Southwest Georgia. My grandmother, my step-granddad, and some of their friends were arrested when Dr. Martin Luther King came to Albany Georgia. Even after the demonstrations and struggles that they endured, I'm sure this type of thing makes them sick to hear about it. But, even worse, they are witnessing how the Black race has changed. (Black on black crime, lack of respect for each other, our music, etc) but that's another topic.
Sorry for the rambling, I'll get off my soap box and take off my Black Panther's Gear now.
Born Blessed!
*pumping my fist*
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

Speaking of Black Panthers...my mother was a party member in Winston Salem back in the day. I've got a picture of her decked out in fatigues and army boots holding a rifle and she had a big red afro! I was proud of her being a part of black history. She spoke to my daughter's black history class at her college and my daughter got mixed reactions from other students. Some of the whites distanced themselves from her. Some of the blacks would give her the power sign!
What God has joined together let no man put asunder...
I've also heard and am angered over what occurred between Reverend Bynum and her minister husband. To think that he got her to meet him over the ruse of reconciliation. Being the Christian that she is, she believed that her husband truly wanted to reconcile. It just goes to show that the devil is alive and will take the form of anyone to harm us,even our husbands. God told us to watch and pray and coming from a previous abusive marriage (mine to the Deacon of our church), I can understand her need to make every effort to save her marriage. As for the sheep in wolf's clothing ( her husband ), I hope they throw the book at him. Send a message loud and clear that those abusers cannot hide in God's sanctuary without being flushed out.
Bride sues over flower color [cnn.com]
NEW YORK (AP) -- The wedding was lovely, except for the flowers: They were the wrong color.
So says the bride, Elana Glatt, who was so upset that she sued the florist and alleged breach of contract.
She says Posy Floral Design in Manhattan substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces.
Not only that, she alleges that the hydrangeas were wilted and brown, and arranged in dusty vases without enough water.
"The use of predominantly pastel centerpieces had a significant impact on the look of the room and was entirely inconsistent with the vision the plaintiffs had bargained for," Glatt, a lawyer, said in the lawsuit, filed on behalf of herself, her husband, David, and her mother-in-law, Tobi Glatt, who paid for the flowers.
The flowers cost $27,435.14. The lawsuit asks for more than $400,000 in restitution and damages.
Stamos Arakas, the florist, said that he and his wife, Paula, tried to match the color of the hydrangeas with a picture Glatt had given them, but explained to her that the colors might not look the same.
"My father used to tell me, 'Don't deal with the lawyers," Arakas said. "Maybe he was right, God bless his soul."
I just can't believe the flowers alone were over $20,000.
Neither can I! Can you imagine the total price of the wedding? I would be sueing to for the price of those flowers dagonit!

Okay I did the math...that's $1247.05 per centerpiece !!! That's crazy, especially for hydrangeas of all things.

Lottery Winner May Have Violated Rules
By MARK PRATT, AP

BOSTON (Nov. 28) - The winner of a $1 million lottery scratch ticket may not be so lucky after all: He's a convicted bank robber who isn't supposed to gamble. Timothy Elliott faces a Dec. 7 court hearing over whether he violated his probation when he bought the $10 ticket for the $800 Million Spectacular game at a supermarket in Hyannis.
Elliott was placed on five years' probation after pleading guilty in October 2006 to unarmed robbery for a January 2006 heist at a bank on Cape Cod. Under terms of his probation, he "may not gamble, purchase lottery tickets or visit an establishment where gaming is conducted, including restaurants where Keno may be played."
Elliott, 55, has collected the first of 20 annual $50,000 checks from the Massachusetts lottery commission. A picture of Elliott, holding his first check, was posted on the lottery's Web site Monday, though it was removed by Wednesday.
As part of his sentence, Elliott was put under the care of the state Mental Health Department and sent to a hospital for treatment, and state officials refused Wednesday to say whether he was still being treated.
A telephone number for Elliott could not immediately be located Wednesday, and it was not clear whether he had a lawyer.
The lottery routinely cross references the names of winners with the state Revenue Department to see if they owe back taxes or child support, lottery spokesman Dan Rosenfeld said. In those cases, winnings go straight to the Revenue Department.
But in this case, it will be up to the court to determine what will happen with Elliott's winnings.
"This is kind of new territory," he said.

Well this is a little extreme!!!!! but I have to question how I would feel if I found out someone named a teddy bear Jesus Christ...hmmmm....
That's just stoopit! The KIDS named the bear. It would have been a problem if she told them they could name the bear then turned around and told them what to name it! She couldn't win for losing on that one.
