Not Having Fun

Ladies!!!!!!!!!! I am not having fun planning my wedding. How do make this enjoyable? I am so close to saying let's not have a reception. I am not happy with the location and I am not sure I like the colors or my dress(thank God I have not bought it yet). I am driving my FH crazy cause I keep changing my mind. I just want to show up, no planning, no picking out stuff...nothing. My wedding planner has threaten to quit cause I keep changing my mind. The only thing I love is the wedding location. I only have 7 months. Please, I need advice!!!!

Re: Not Having Fun

It is perfectly normal to experience these types of feelings when planning a wedding. I myself felt like just calling the entire wedding off, but realized I, along with other people have spent so much money on my wedding that it is too late to turn back now. To me its like a rollercoaster. You have your ups and you have your downs. The only thing I can say is it will all be over soon and it will all be worth it.

Re: Not Having Fun

I say, take a "planning" vacation. One week without any wedding talk. If vendors need to call, have someone else answer questions and take messages for 7 days. You have 7 months, you can afford to take a break.

I agree with Musik. Also, if you felt your dress was "the one" when you tried it on, stop looking at others. There will always be a gorgeous dress but you'll go try it on and will not feel the same magic you felt with the 1st! Go try on your dress again and see if you feel the same. Sometimes we just need a reminder!

Re: Not Having Fun

Girl you are far from crazy. I've been feeling like this myself and took a FEW planning vacations because of the sheer yuckiness I was feeling.

The ladies here are so encouraging though and have helped me through a number of issues when I was ( and still kinda am) feeling the same way you are.
