I think people should be giving you wedding gifts now whether you had a reception now or not. I don't think you should call your one year anniversary your "reception" but instead plan an extravagant anniversary party that you could consider as "the reception you never had". My unmarried cousin had a huge 50th B-day party that she went all out on and she joked during her speech that it was the wedding reception she never had. It was absolutely beautiful. After a year of marriage, people should be congratulating you with anniversary gifts, not wedding gifts therefore making registry unnecessary. But this is just my opinion.

We have decided to have a reception for our one year anniversary.
But we are not sure if we can re-submitt our registry information.
