I just started growing my locs, and Im not sure how to wear my hair when I renew my vows in Sept. I want to wear a hairpiece, but Im scared that it might not look good, since my locs are not long ( they come above my ears). What would you do?

yeah...
I have the same question too...
I see alot of nice hairstyles if you have permed hair, but I can't find any bridal hairstyles with locs. My hair has locs too and it lays on the nape of my neck.
Anyway, I am searching for a decent mature bridal look for locs. does anyone know what magazine (or idea) for bride-to-be with natural hair?
I know it can be difficult to choose a style for your wedding when your hair is in locs. Look in our Hair gallery. we have quite a few styles. Consider if you are wearing a veil. That will help determinne how you wear your hair as well. Locs are goregeous all by themselves and simple flowers in the hair or bridal clips may be all you need to make a classy statement!

To answer the first question, you can add loc or braid extensions into your hair. Please be aware extensions are quite pricey.
Or if you have a trustworthy locitian or hair stylist, you can do a series of hair trials (rehearsals), so you can see what hair styles looks best for you with your veil.
Good Luck to you!

My locs are about 3 1/2 years old and eight inches in length. In preparation for my wedding on 7/1/05, I have been busy experimenting with styles. I have used a straw set on my locs and just recently braided every three to achieve very uniforms crimps throughout. Either of these add fullness if your locs are not already.
Experiment with hairpins, clips, and possibly even add a little flare to a plain clip by adding beads, cowry shells or what ever you like.
I do not know if you use oils in your hair but I have already made a mental note to have my hair freshly washed and styled a few days before my wedding. I do not want oil residue to stain my veil. That would not look good at all. So, also consider the products that you use in your hair when planning what to do.

I have a similar problem, I want to wear a headpiece of some sort, and I have also have locs that reach to the middle of my back, so not too many types of headgear fit or look right. Any suggestions?

For those looking for variety & styles for locs try www.mandisangozi.com www.nubiankinks.com or www.khamitkinks.com for a few ideas. Instead of those traditional head pieces why not go with flowers like Bille Holiday or a few nicely placed cowrie shells? I wish al the best & most beautiful time of your lives!!
Is there any more loc or natural hairstyle websites?
