those who have passed away

Hello, I have two mothers(birth and step) both who have passed away. How would I be able to give a fitting tridute to both my mothers on my wedding day, along with my aunts we have provided alot of support?

You can have their favorite hymns sung at the ceremony or light candles in their honor with a moment of silence. Anyone else have some ideas for Noelyn?

my sister-in-law and I are in the same spot. Her mother passed away and she wants to do something special during her wedding. Here are a couple of things that we are thinking about. Having the bride expressing honor for her mother (via prerecorded message) while a memory candle is being lit, and placing her bouquet or a bouquet of flowers at her mom's grave site. Hope you think of something, I know how you feel and I know this is very important to you.....

We put my wedding bouqet on my Grandmother's grave. SHe died a few months before our wedding. I really liked that idea Stacy. :)

Re: those who have passed away

my fiance and I are in the same situation. I lost my father in February and he lost his father in June (both this year). I am reserving the first seat on the first pew of both sides for our fathers. On that seat I am placing a wreath with a candle in the center of it. My sister who is unable to be a bridemaid will be lighting both candles at the beginning of the service and the will burn throught the ceremony. Then they will be taken to the reception and used as the centerpieces for the head table. Both candles will have a picture of our fathers on them. I hope this helps.

I lost 2 grand fathers and my Father in 2004. Both of my finance's parents are deceased as well. We decided To include 5 red roses in my bouquet of white roses. Each rose is dedicated to our 5 loved ones. In addition, I am including a dedication in my program. I really think it is a nice idea to have the bouquet layed on the grave. That is very classy.

That is so romantic! VW! I am sure it will be appreciated. It is even sadder when there is a happy occassion like a wedding. I felt guilty thay my graandma wasn't there! silly, but it was how I felt.

Re: those who have passed away

We are doing a libation service to honor our ancestors and ask their blessing upon our marriage. Both my FH and I have remained connected to our grandmothers after their passing, and they have been instrumental in helping build the commitment we share (and will be celebrating on our big day) through their presence in our dreams. So it would only be right to honor and acknowledge them at our wedding.

My wedding is on the 29th of this month and I plan to have a table at the reception for the remembrance of my mom and both of my future husband's parents. It will have their pictures on it along with a lot of candles in a circular motion. Of course the table itself will be decorated also.
