I thought it would be nice to send invitations asking several women to be bridesmaids in my wedding. The idea sounded good to me until I tried to think of wording for the invitations and the style or look of the invitation. I'm not much of a writer, but I want them to be personalized (not some cookie cutter invite). Has anyone here done this or have any suggestions?

I wrote up the invitations but ended up reducing my wedding party so I never got a chance to send it to the ladies that were actually in the wedding. I am planning on giving all the letters to them in a mongramed picture frame as a Thank you. What I wrote was a letter expressing why I wanted them to share my day with me. Every letter was different, as each relationship was different. For example for my cousins I talked about things we did growing up.. For college friends I talked about sharing everything from bed to bras.... And for my childhood friends I talked about the good ol years. All of them ended with the same line which asked them to be in the wedding.. Hope thats a good look for you and CONGRATS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT.

That's a good idea. Depending on the amount of bridemaids, you might consider hand written invitations, that way you can make each one personal. Just purchase beautiful note cards that are blank inside. Another cool idea is if you have a photo of you and the friend you're asking to participate, copy it and write your invitation on the back.
Living my life like it's GOLDEN!!
Luckily my girlfriends and I have a monthy "Ladies Night" where we either go out or get together as one of our homes and just spend time together chatting and chewing. When I decided who I wanted in my bridal party, I opted for the Ladies Night to be held at my home. I got nice stationary and hand wrote them each a note about our relationship and how much they meant to me. After we had our usual "toast to God's greatest creation - women" I asked each one of them to be in my wedding. Luckily it was only 4 women, but that got reduced to 3 and one jr bridesmaid. Be creative, send a card, e-vite,email, picture w/ a message anything that will make them remember when they were asked to be a part of your special day. Best of luck.

Hi all! I'm new to the site and absolutely love what's going on here. I sent my bridesmaids invitations also. I used a 'Top Ten Reasons to be my Bridesmaid List' like on David Letterman. I changed around some of the phrases to fit their individual style or memories and events we share. For example, I have a bridesmaid that's really crafty so one of her reasons was because the centerpieces would not make themselves :) I have another that is great at planning parties and her reason was: I know for sure that you would help plan a bachelorette party to remember etc. The number 1 reason was always the same: Because you are my sister and my friend and I couldn't imagine this day without you.
I hope this helps! Good Luck..
