Will you have someone sing during your ceremony? If so, what song?

I have three vocalists. I'm having a church wedding so they are singing Christian songs:

Falling in Love With Jesus (Kirk Whalum); For Always (CeCe Winans); The Wedding Song (John P Kee); The Prayer (Yolanda Adams and Donnie McKurklin)

what are the other songs that you are using? I am having a church wedding too.

The average is 3 songs during the ceremony. People get so antsy when there are so many songs, though. Make sure that the performers can sing. You wouldn't want to sit on a hard pew bench and listen to someone screeching for 5 minutes now would you? LOL

My best friend (and one of my bridesmaids) is going to sing two songs "Ave Marie" for the lighting of the unity candle and "from this moment" by Shania Twain, after we say our i do's. there wont be any other solo's at the ceremony. my father is singing "A song for my daughter" to me at the reception. i am gonna need a lot of tissues!!!

We're having a male and female vocalist sing "I prayed for you" by Allen and Allen. It's a beautiful song. We are not allowed secular music during our wedding at our church but we are allowed instrumental secular music, so for our wedding processional, Kirk Whalum's "For you" (Kenny Lattimore) will be played via CD.

i can't figure out how to post a new thread.
My sister is getting married next month and I am helping her with the bulk of the responsibilty. One problem has come up. She is having a church wedding and her future husband thinks it would be disresepctful to play music in the church. The problem is her reception is at the church as well. she has some games set up to play and I am recording all of our family memebers giving her and her new hubby marriage advice that I will play at the reception, but she doesn't want to just listen to people eating the rest of the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on music or activities?

Hello Life! Welcome to this site. As Askalot (SeptBride) suggested speak to the church's administrator to find out what is acceptible to play in church because every church has different rules. If all else fails you can't go wrong with gospel or jazz music. Good luck.

Can you dance in the church. My sister really wants to have a father daughter dance at least.

Life, I don't have the answer for that. Speak with the church. I'm sure they will have all of the answers that you need. Although, some people may not feel comfortable dancing in the church.

Remember that I said in a prior post that I wanted to do a Unity Candle ceremony with FH and our 3 kids(the oldest is his from a prior relationship)?
