I need help. I am getting married in May 2005, and I have no idea of the songs I want to have sung at my wedding. I want some, but not all of the songs to be religious. I am completely lost. I need ideas for music that can be played before and during the ceremony. Can someone please help. I have been to 4 wedding during the past 6 months, and I didn't like any of the songs that the soloist performed. There are three songs that I have decided on: Yolonda Adams--The Prayer, You & I---Stevie Wonder, and Jeffrey OSborne--Rest of Our Lives. But I need at least 5 more songs. PLEASE HELP!!!

There is a good list of songs on this site. Including ones for solo acts on this page: Ceremony Songs. Some great Christian love songs made popular by Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith and more!

CONGRADS WE'RE GETTING MARRIAGED IN MAY AS WELL. 5-5 NY. AND I HAVE THE SAME CONCERNS. HELP
GOD BLESS U ALL! ALWAYS COMMUNICATION.
Well first of all are you doing the church ceremony? Cause you make want to talk to a church musican and ask them what are the songs most asked to be played in the church. When it comes to a solo that you want sang during the ceremony try picking a song that that represents you and your fiance. you'll get the feel of no one else is even in the church with you. you may want that song played when you walk in it'll take the edge off.

There are a few thigns to take into consideration when selecting music for your wedding:
What significance does it have to you and your groom?
Do the songs tell a story?
Does the church have any music restrictions?
Consider songs like: "Since I found You" Vicki Winans; "Just For Me" Karen Clark Sheard; "He proposed to me" Kelly Price; "With You" Donnie McClurkin...John P. Kee and Maurette Brown Clark have nice wedding songs.
Is anyone having a song played just for the mother as they are walk in?

Great idea, to be honest Leanne I'm new at this wedding stuff and I hadn't thought about doing that.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
I haven't thought about that either!

i think boyz II men a song for mama would fit perfectly for the mothers walking in.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda
Hey thanks yall. Is it common/traditional for the mothers to come in to their own song?
I'm not the majority but I have never known it to be common. As for "Mama" by Boys 2 Men, I'm not really feeling that for an entrance to wedding ceremony. Don't get me wrong it's a nice song and tribute to mothers but in my opinion, it doesn't seem fitting for them to enter on.

I'm getting married in june of next year, and I heard a beautiful song on the radio that was religious the song was talking about a couple lighting the candle of love and becoming one, I have been looking for it but I have not found it. If anyone out there might know the song please reply to my post.

I just thought I would let youall know about a song by Tina Marie on her new album. Sapphire it is the first song on her album."God has Created" this song would be great when doing either the sand or unity candle cermony.....also "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" by Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack
Southerngirl.....
I love Jesse Powell's song tittle YOU! I believe that is on the last album he did. He has alot of romantic music on that album. I also like the album that Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore put out. The album tittled Things That Lovers Do!

For my wedding I've decided on having gospel instrumental music playing for all the prelimanary stuff, seating of the parents etc. My bridesmaids will walk in to "Special Gift" by Donnie Mcclurken, I plan on walking in to "You've Won My Affection" Isareal and the New Breed......and my first dance is Tony Terry "When I'm With You"....
