Actually the bridesmaid pays for her own attire traditionally. It is part of their gift to you. So you might wnat to consider keeping the cost of the dress down. You do however, spring for the accessories. If thedress is pricey, try to get comprable and classy accessories to give. Remember, these people are our friends or relatives. We want to keep it that way! lol
Yeah the bridesmaids pay for their own attire. I started looking for my bridesmaids dresses before I looked for mine. See I've been a bridesmaid several times so I know what it feels like. I set a budget that I promised I wouldn't go over and I've stuck to that. In fact I went below that price. That made them happy!!!!
Unless you have plenty of money to spend, the bridesmaids usually pay for their own dresses and other accessories. If you know someone that can make beautiful dresses for a low low price than you can also consider that.
I knew a wonderful seamtress so I had her make the gowns for my bridesmaids. I paid half of the total bill for the dresses and supplied the accesories. This was my gift to them. I had five girs in my bridal party. They all wore the same color, sage, but each of their dresses were slightly different. This worked out find.
It sounds like you may need to need to find beautiful dresses at a lower than rack price. I found a website that allows you to purchase brand name wedding gowns at a discount when I helped a dear friend of mine plan her wedding last year. I have already inquired about a couple of bridesmaids dresses for my May 2006 wedding and they were deeply discounted from the price at local bridal stores. Check it out www.gownsales.com. They have links to the vendors that they carry.
My uncle wanted me to ask you this question. Who traditionally pays for the bridesmaids attire?
God is good all the time and all the time God is good
