My bridal shower had a "shopping theme" so we did girly colors like pink, white, yellow, and orange, and my favors were little flower-pattern chinese boxes with colorful jelly beans....Red and pink balloons were everywhere, there was lots of faux jewelry and of course I wore my crown.
The first one I actually planned was for my SIL. We did an all-white theme with white candies in white bags, the all-white invites were hand-done by me with silver details...The pattern i did on the invites were the same pattern on the favor bags. The cupcakes were homeade by me-creme cheese frosting with white butter cake. The guests of course wore all white. I had it catered by my friend-a culinary chef- the main dish was a chicken/asiago cheese entree-Specifically chosen so that no "red sauces" or colored foods would stain anyone's clothing.
The next one I did was pink/purple. The favors had gourmet jelly belly brand (pink lemonade, strawberry cheesecake, and cherry flavored pink beans and grape for purple) jelly beans tied in simple cellophane. A co-worker made cup cakes & arranged in a cup-cake tree with pink and white frosting (she is also a culinary chef)....We made Cherry lemonade, and followed through with other pink decor.....
I heard of a SPA theme, Beach theme, and a mardi Gras theme...And these should be easy to follow through....Happy Planning.

My bridal shower theme was created after two of my favorite shows. The theme was "Sex & the City meets Girlfriends" Everything centered around things friends like to do together. Since the banquet room came with dark blue striped table linens (which we couldn't understand because the rest of the room was beige, gold and black) we tried to capture the feel of a cocktail lounge . Like girls night out.
Centerpieces were giant martini glasses that we poured gel candle mix in and had floating olive candles inside:

Favors were pocketbooks I found at the $1 store. I stuffed them with tissue paper and loaded them with travel sized goodies such as lotion, hair gel, manicure pedicure sets, pumice stone, hair moisturizer etc.

I framed an invitation for guest sign in:

OH pawcrow love the pics the candles were creative.
SweetP have you considered having a bridal shower for your older friends and family and maybe you could do your favorite getaway for the theme. My maid of honor did a Hawaiian theme for my bridal shower for members of my church, and my older family members.
Then do a bachelorette party for the ladies who don't mind the adult entertainment.
My theme for my bachelorette party was leather and lace basically a pink an black affair (everyone had to wear lace or leather) but it was fun and creative.

The theme for my shower was Crystal & The City. We had signature drinks dubbed "The Crys-Style" in martini galsses. Favors were dressed shaped boxes with a monogrammed C. We played a how well do you know the bride game and what's in your purse.
My cousin's wife had a Sex & The City themed shower as well. They had mini purses, pumps, and martini glasses filled with candy all over the tables. A pink drink in martini glasses. We played a SATC word find and had an about the bride and groom word scramble.
Other shower themes I've seen were Breakfast at Tiffnay's - both with the old glamour spin and Tiffany & Co. blue spin.
Yes CMT we had a ball.
Thanks Mrs080908. I love your leather and lace theme. My friends are such a mixed group that had we used a theme like that, some would have gotten arrested for their outfit and others would claim that little piece of lace trim on their cotton bra meant they were participating. I love them all just the same though...LOL
One of my bridesmaids got married a few months before me and she did the Tiffany theme. She had blue candles inside of a hurricane lamp shade as centerpieces, blue and white rose petals and little tiffany boxes for favors. She also had champagne glasses filled with blue and white jelly beans and instead of a cake she did cup cake tower in the tiffany colors.

Yesterday When I talked to my MOH who resides in Louisiana she wants to do a Hawaiian Luau Theme. I think its a fun idea and I cake wait to see what she and the other girls will have planned.
My MOH here in Arkansas came up with a Theme of a Tea Party....I love the idea and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. With the Tea Party/Cocktail Dresses in a Outside-Garden setting. The Idea is Fabulous and very Chic.
My Batchlorette Party will be held on a Thursday night when the wedding party arrives in town. Thats also my FI's BDAY/Batchlor Party!!! I'm sure him and his boys will Ball Out and do some serious partying. But the Theme for the Batchlorette Party will be The Little Black Dress Party. All the ladies will get Fabulous and wear their little black dresses and my Arkansas MOH is planning to book a nightclub for the venue. I cant wait We are getting excited already. and I am sooo anxious to see what the ladies have instore.
