Multiple Receptions

My wedding reception is going to be at a church for my parents, coworkers and friends. So, I decided to have a second reception for my friends because the church will not allow drinking and dancing. I also felt it would be uncomfortable for my parents who are religious and I don't want them to leave the reception especially since they are coming from out of town. Also, the children do not need to see adult drinking alcohol and possibly acting stupid. The first reception site is free of charge. The second is not. So, my issue is how would I insert the 2nd reception in the invitation. Some say have flyers made but I thought that was tacky. Also, would I call it a "2nd reception or a "Wedding After Party".

Re: Multiple Receptions

You're very thoughtful. I would call it a "Wedding After Party". I'm assuming it's going to be on the same day as the church reception but in the evening. Maybe you can put an insert into the wedding invitations of those whom you'd want to invite to the "Wedding After Party". I'm sure everyone will have a blast. Enjoy.

An Wedding after party sounds good but i was thinking what do you want? I have a lot of friends that like to party and drink but i had my wedding reception at my church because i don't party and i wasn't about to spend any money trying to please everybody.. the church reception is what i wanted and it went over well with everybody.. Remember its your day... now if you want to party then go ahead with the after party...

Re: Multiple Receptions

I want to a good old fashion party. I just want to show some respect to my parents because I have been to too many receptions where the parents, grandparents, etc. left because they were uncomfortable.Bold Text

Re: Multiple Receptions

You could send "Adult Only Reception" invitations and give the time this reception will begin.

Re: Multiple Receptions

Well, it not R-rated. Adult Reception sound like it X-rated or something. The options I was thing was either Wedding After Party, Reception II, or Post-Wedding Reception. What do you think?
