I am getting married on March 25, 2006. My dress is white and the colors are burnt orange and amthyst. I am trying to think of the right theme for not only the colors but that time of the year. I had thought about either mardi gras, tropical theme but I am not sure. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I do know I want lots of candles involved to give it more of an romantic feel.
Thanks

You chose beautiful colors. Both mardi gras and tropical would be nice with you colors. Personally I like the mardi gras idea more. What do you have in mind for it?

Re: Themes

That's my problem how far do I go. I have been trying to figure out if I just want a couple of favors and maybe center pieces dealing with the theme, or if I want to go all out. The mardi gras theme I know I want masks involved and beads but it's like what else. Either way I want it fun and still elegant if that makes any sense.

Re: Themes

Just a suggestion less is bess. That seems to be the thing this year and will more then likely carry over to the next. As your center pieces put one mardi gra mask with as much glam as possible then place a single, maybe scented, candle. The mask can be as made upp as you want it. Have chocolate masks made as favors, use your colors as color for the bows and ribbon. Have your host or hostess greet your guest with beads and masks. Have a disposable camera at each table and let your guests get involved. Hope that helps a little.

We are having our reception and ceremony at a place called the Largo Cultural Center. It has a beautiful room we are going to use, which also has a patio. They hold alot of events there, because it also has a room where they do shows called the tonne playhouse. The center is located in the middle of the park so if we wanted we could also pay an extra 100 to get married out in the grass if we wanted.

Largo,FL or MD? An outdoor ceremony sounds divine and in a park with a Fall?Mardi Gras theme, I bet it'll be beautiful. You could give you guest mask or chocolate doubloons with you names and wedding date on them as thank you gifts. You have so many options.

Re: Themes

Ladies I still need help, I can't decide between the two themes. Everyone is putting in way too many comments. And it is confusing me even more.

Re: Themes

It's your wedding, we only offer ideas, you make the final call. And from what I see, the ladies have been very helpful. So far we know you want lot of candles, your colors are burnt orange and amethyst, and you fiance wants thing his way. With those colors and the candlelight maybe your theme should be 'Romance'. Use scented candles as centerpieces.

Re: Themes

Don't get me wrong I am talking about him and my family as far as too many comments. They all are trying to overide what I want everything I've suggested they are not feeling. I never thought about using a romantic theme. All three are great ideas.
