Glasses or Not

Ladies I need input...........
I have been wearing prescription glasses since the age of 7. Therefore I am attached to my glasses and I never have tried and I'm not too interested in wearing contact lenses. However, my maid of honor is trying to convince me to not wear my glasses for my wedding ceremony. She says to wear them if I want for the reception but not for the ceremony or pictures. However, my glasses are very much a part of me and I don't think they would look bad with the right dress, veil, other accesories, etc. What do you all suggest?

I wear both, but I have to tell you go with what feels comfortable to you. Because like you said it is a part of you.

I agree with limani22. Just remember that you will look different without them. People are used to you with them on. When I first took my glasses off and started wearing contacts people had to adjust to my new look. That can be a good thing and sometimes it may not. Like Limani22 says do what's going to make you comfortable.

I have worn glasses since I was two and contacts since I was 11. They do make a huge change in your life. If you are thininking to go without the glasses, don't wait until the rehearsal dinner to ditch the frames

I think that you should go without, or get contacts. it makes a big difference on how your pictures turn out. They (your glasses) may not look bad with the right accessorties, but you will want to look the best for your wedding day.

Re: Glasses or Not

It is hard to depart from old friends but every bride wants to glow on that special day so I would say -- go without them!, at least walk down the isle with them off, let your husband-to-be keep them in his coat pocket and maybe you can put them on at the reception. People will know it is you, but you will have an essence they have not seen before and that will make you even more beautiful on that day, and when you look at the pictures you too will be amazed.

Good Luck and be beautiful

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

Re: Glasses or Not

When I finally gave up my glasses an started wearing contacts my skin was discolored and sunken in where my frames rested. It took a few days for it to fill. But I like the way I look without them. Try it.

Re: Glasses or Not

I've been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade. I hope to have made the switch by 11/06 (my wedding date) to contact lenses by that time. To tell you the truth, I'm a little scared, maybe because my glasses have been a part of me for so long. I hope to venture to contacts by early spring 06 -- I have to get my nerve up. Marquita01, I feel you!!!! Do what feels right to you. I'm sure you'll make a beautiful bride with or without your glasses!!!!

Re: Glasses or Not

it's good to know that someone else feels the way I do. the thought of contacts has crossed my mind more. but I haven't moved forward in getting some. thanks for the encouragement.
