Second Timers

This is my second marriage. First wedding. It has been really crazy as far as being reasonable ('cause I am almost 40 and don't want to spend a fortune on the wedding) and organizing a wedding that is not cheap or tacky. This is my first post and I just wanted to say the site is wonderful and just to give some valuable input that I have found since this journey has begu...lol

First: As to who does what (re: bridesmaids/MOH) Once you have your bridesmaids selected, consider creating a simple newsletter in Word. In your newsletter, include a little bit about each person and why you have selected them. This is also the time to let them know what you expect their responsibilities to be, i.e. planning showers, whether they pay for their own dresses, etc. You can also include important contact numbers/email addresses, inform them of important dates, provide them with suggested dress ideas...you get the idea! This is especially helpful if any of your bridesmaids are from out of town. You can start the newsletter as far in advance as you like. And update it monthly or as often as you wish to keep everybody and everything flowing smoothly.

Second: For second timers who are a little older...I found a great book titled Getting Married: The Wedding Guide for the Grownup Bride. It is written by a sister (Shelley Chritiansen) and next to finding this site, has been my lifesaver.
