If it's that uncomfortable around alcohol, consider non-alcoholic beverages.

Re: DRINKS OR NO DRINKS

Della,is his family bothered by the smells of all alcoholic beverages? Wine? Champagne? I know beer has a stronger smell.
The idea of seperating the drinkers from the non drinkers (two different rooms) may cause distance at your reception. Is his family only bothered by the smell of alcohol or are they bothered by associating themselves with a room full of drinkers? This could determine the best course of action for to take.

Re: DRINKS OR NO DRINKS

Hey,
How about serving champagne punch for the toast. That's what we'll be toasting with.
