Subtle African traditions for the ceremony?

I'm looking to incorporate an African flavor, but I'm not interested in the typical jumping of the broom etc. Any suggestions?

I am with you I want to incorporate someting subtle into the ceremony so I am planning on having the tasting of elements. I thought that this would put a little bit of culture into the ceremony.

Simple and subtle flavor to your decorations; Use cowrie shells.
