i recently went and got a quote from a florist and the price was over 1200 dollars. Last night i found a website reccomended from a friend and the same flowers i wanted plus additional accessories came to about 430 dollars. The thing is they are slik flowers, butthe arrangements were beautiful. Plus all their feedback from brides was positive. The site is called wedideas.com if you want to check it out. Would it be tacky to do all my arrangements like that? I am 21 and neither one of us has saved the money, its a sort of pay as we go along wedding

Hey girl and welcome, I would have been the first to say "yuck" to the thought of silk flowers, but I went to the site and I must tell you how impressed I am, those arrangements are beautiful, girl if you can save $800.00 in the process, I say go for it.

Hi. and again, welcome. I went to the site as well and they are beautiful. But my only suggestion, before you order a full package, see if the can send you a sample of what you'll be receiving for you money. You want to make sure it's the quality shown on their website.

As Phenomonique suggests it would be wise to try and see if we could get samples. I just love the arrangements on this site. You ladies have provided me with a wealth of information and resources. Planning my wedding is so much fun and less stressful, because I didn't have a clue!

If you like the arrangments, could you possibly use them as examples for fresh flowers. If you buy your fresh flowers in bulk, then you could possibly get a crafty friend or horticulture teacher or student to design them for you. That would definitely save money. Also, I've read where designers recommend using a combination of each. Could you possibly use large, silk flowers for arrangments at the church/ceremony (further from guests) and use bulk fresh flowers designed at a discount for the arrangements at the reception? I plan to save money by using silk flowers when the guests aren't close enough to see it. What about silk flowers for the flower girl? Those are really inexpensive in bulk. The two sites I've found for fresh flowers are www.marisol.com and 2groses.com If you don't have the Bridal Bargain book, you have to get it. A zillion ways to have a beautiful wedding with discount prices. Let me know what you think!
