It looks like you've got it all figured out. That is awesome because I have got a whole lot of work to do with my wedding and I don't know where to quite start. I have a suggestion for a song, it's called "I Do" and it's by Kenny Latimore and Chante Moore. Check it out because it is absolutely beautiful. My Future husband and I are using that for our first dance song. I really like your line-up of songs, good variety.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him and He will bring it to pass.(Psalm 37:5)
i have been all over the net searching for ethnic reception songs and i havent found anything. thanks for the suggestion. if u know of a site that has song ideas for "us" let me know. i am so tired of looking at butterfly kisses. i like the song but it's not me. you know?
I definitly know. There really aren't that many resources for African American Brides. I kep looking for wedding CD's and I can't seem to find any ethnic ones. I was thinking of going to CD Warehouse or Cheapo because thoses stores sometimes have the hard to find items.

What about some jazz, like Etta James "At Last". Remember how on the Cosby Show they always showcased great African American Music? That's the kind of feeling and mood I want to set at my wedding/reception. During my wedding ceremony, I'm leaning towards a few Fred Hammond songs and a tune from "The Best Man" soundtrack....
Be Blessed.....
I always loved the old school songs on the Cosby show. I thought they were so classy. I'm also struggling to find the right mix of music for the dinner portion of the reception. I went to a wedding this weekend and it was phenomenal! They placed perfect old school songs like "Heaven must be like this" and many others that had us rocking to the beat while we ate and had candlelight conversation. It was great!
This is my advise when trying to choose a song...listen to it, if it makes you heart rush and bring a tear to your eye, that's the song. If it does that, then that says there is a word/s in that song that relates to the process of your relationship ending up at the alter. Enjoy your day sistas
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
