lol Charlotte u crazy...I'm licensed for makeup as well, but I will be no good...cant u picture the mascara job with a shaky hand?........I picked Glamour Shots because the makeup they use has a soft touch on camera...plus I wabted a heavier base that would last all day. The ceremony is at 5pm, reception is 730...

Hi Charly, as promised here is my bridal party dress in platinum. My two maid of honors will wear this dress in platinum.

Watch it nah girl.....love love love the dress and even more so because it is a faux wrap...there is just something about a wrap dress or top that I absolutely love..I think it camouflages a top heavy sista with a little extra tummy (lol).....oh and lets not talk about the buttons on the side....church out!

let's see...2 more days..Im starting to have memory lapse lol....tryin to keep it all together. Look's like everything is done. I was goin to have the corsages ordered and premade but I found a tutorial where I can make them on my own...hey did yall know that a corsage is really just 3 boutton. tied together?....wow learn something new everyday. I'm making mine out of silk, just have to buy a few more orchids and lilies. I'm making a wristlet corsage for his sister (heard she plans on crashing the ceremony) if yall were keeping up with the drama...that was my wedding planner who quit. Well her wristlet will have a little scroll tied on with a nice lil note inside..telling her thanks for all her "help" and encouragement...and I MADE IT. My mom said kill them with kindness so I am.

Amen! Rhonda, you tell it girl. You guys should consider regular formal dresses. They come in a great range of sizes colors and styles and they cost so much LESS than anything called bridesmaid dreaa. Then your girls will be sure to wear them out again. Check department stores and boutiques that have eveningwear first if you can.

Rosey nah there's a valuable piece of advise...but question....do you think there will be enough dress on the rack for say 10 bridemaids? And also I asked this question on another forum...do you think it is ok to have the ladies pick out their own dresses...I saw it on sex and the city during Charlotte's wedding....I can just give them the color but they chose their own style..what is your take on it?

You are right Rosetta, that is exactly what I had in mind. I wanted my bridal party ladies to be able to wear their dresses again. I really love the dresses we agreed on and they will be able to reuse them again. I also thank you Rosetta (I know it was you) who so graciously posted the "live" pictures on the site for me.

Charlotte..I gave my girls the same color swatches from david's Bridal...and let them handle it themselves...I wanted them all to be comfortable...they are all different sizes...they just were given one basic instruction: no short dresses...no sashes. Same shoes..they sent receipts..my mom paid them for the gowns...i bought all the same jewelry..maid of honor is the only one with elaborate jewelry, and her dress is platinum, the other girls are wearing apple red.

Island so you are saying all have different dresses?....YES!...love the apple and platinum,...it really sounds like something to eat...hey and big ups to mom for paying for the dresses...man she is one of a kind!

they dont know she payin...i got the receipts..so when they get here she will reimburse them all. I love her to pieces (we aint always been tight)....she on her good behavior now lol....

My MOH was originally gonna wear red just with a splash of white on the front but it wouldve been too late to order it..so we went with platinum since the grooms vest is platinum as well as my son.

I love to see them all wear the same dress as well..looks really clean and uniform...but hey some are a little more blessed than others...especially my island girls.

How is the planning coming alvinsl and Platinum?

(From the hall) IslandB, the planning is going really nicely. FH is being extra helpful and doing everything that I've asked him to do. I purchased a great deal of everything that is needed and I thank God for that. My neice just got engaged this weekend (for Valentines Day) and I can't wait to introduce her to the sisterhood, I know she will absolutely love you guys!!!! Island I am so happy for you, and you still find the time to check in with the sister hood, now thats love! We so appreciate you gurl!

The dresses that are posted in Navy (for my bridesmaids) and Platinum (for my 2 MOHs) a little further up on this post is what I chose. My colors are Navy Blue and Platinum and I wanted my ladies to be able to use their dresses again if they needed to do so. I remember when I was the MOH in a friends wedding she had us looking like clowns from a costume party and I never used that dress again. I wore the dress because of the love I had for my friend, but it was truly a waste of money.

Nah Platinum do not put all the blame on the bride....dem bridesmaid does pick out some ugly dresses too ya know. When my younger sister got married, her girls (off none of her sister) looked absolutely ridiculous...I mean UUUUUUGGGGGGLLLLLLLLYYYYY, they looked so stupid I did not even go to the wedding, I said I will go to the reception hall and help there....if they only knew that was my excuse to avoid having to answer people stupid questions like "how in their right mind chose those dresses?" so don't blame the bride sometimes.
