reception etiquette???

2 things...1) is it improper to have place cards, china stemware etc set on the table... when it's a buffet style reception? 2) i need the "exact" language to include in the invitation which essentially says..."due to space limitations, children are not invited to the reception...for your convenience, childcare will be provided..." in other words, the reception is "adult only"
thanks,
sharon

Re: reception etiquette???

I am also having an adult only wedding/reception. I have found that the least explanation possible is the best route. I would just say...I have reserved two spaces in your honor at the _______________ reception. *Adult Only Reception

Let me know what you think!

Re: reception etiquette???

thanks...however, i would like to provide child care for couples with young children. don't want them to feel as if they have to chose between attending and their child...have you read any articles or "suggested language" for adult only receptions?

also, how are the guests spaces "reserved" before they actually rsvp?

I'm not exactly sure. But, the ladies seem to know the answer to all of these etiquette questions. I hope you find what you need!

Re: reception etiquette???

You can simply say on the reception card....."We have reserved 2 spaces at table "B" in your honor, please RSVP on or before____. You will have to insert an additional card for those persons with children that says...For added comfort and pleasure child care will be provided at no cost to you. By the way, I think it is very nice that you are adding child care for your guests, girl they will definetly buy you nice gifts :-)

I'm glad you asked this question sevans5108, I would appreciate some input on the first part of your question... Is it improper to have place cards, china, etc. set on the table when it's a buffet style reception? Help.
