How many is too many in the wedding party???

It is very rear that FH's get involved, enjoy it. I do not see it as a problem....what you can do however is search for inexpensive wedding gifts for the party, there are a lot of nice things out there that are reasonably priced. You never know he may change his mind as the date gets closer but the last thing you need to be right now is "not supportive"

I agree, it's ok to have two best men. If it means that much to your man it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure he would be supportive if you wanted two ladies for maid of honor.

Dymeme, also I should have added if you are in fact going to have that many in the bridal party....their entrance should not be long...I mean the march, no one enjoys looking at the same dress fifteen times at a very slow pace, so chose a song that is not too slow for them. I remember watching a gospel celebrity's wedding where there were 30 bridemaids and I got so bored at the slow entrance and the same dress....oh my Lord how boring that was....it really took away from the brides entrance cause at that point no one wants to look at any more dresses period. So consider that as well ok.

After seeing six couples proceed in I have to admit I'm wanting drinks and apetizers. Cause now it's a fashion show!! I'm not trying to be rude Dymeme, but have you ever gone to a ceremony with that my in the wedding party? By the time you make your entrance folks are worn out! And you are no longer SPECTACULAR but damn it's about time...If you MUST have all the attendents, have them at the alter already (and can they all fit at the alter). Just have the honor attends., flower girls and ring bearer, proceed glorious YOU
Can they sing? It would be so beautiful if they could sing a song as you proceed. If you have a soloist let the be his background section.

Welcome to the boards,dymeme! wouldn't it be loverly to have them sing as they walk down the aisle. What a great idea, phenomonique. That would definately be uinusual and a spiritual begining to a religous experience.

On a serious note, if you wan thirty that's your option. But keep in mind the procession time.

Dymeme, maybe you could have the groomsmen standing at the altar already, and as the bridesmaids enter have a groomsman meet a bridesmaid to escort her to the altar. Maybe this way it will not appear that the processional will be never ending. I was a bridesmaid for one of my girlfriend's wedding two years ago. You have four groomsmen and four bridesmaids more than she did. She had nine bridesmaids, nine groomsmen, a matron of honor, a maid of honor, a junior bridesmaid, two ringbearers, a flower girl, a bell ringer, a best man, and two clergypersons. She had us alternate (bridesmaid and groomsman)-- with me leading the pack :-). And coming from someone who was part of a large wedding party -- I will tell you as I was the first one to stand at the altar while the processional continued -- I wondered if it would ever end. Girl be happy that your fiance is interested. My sweetie is interested but told me the planning is up to me. I ask him for his ideas and such but that is abt it. When it came to choosing our wedding party, I told him how many we needed and we just filled it in. I say, if he wants these people in the wedding party, they must mean something special to him. Just attempt to make it fit and like everyone else has said, make the entrance fast. Good luck!

dymeme, I agree with lanierh. My husband and I did the same thing that she and her FH did when selecting our wedding party. It is great that your FH is taking part -- regardless of how you and your FH decide to incorporate the wedding party, make the processional fast (most people will probably be bored by then if it is not fast) -- you do not want to take away from your entrance.

You are going to 'POP' in white with plum and charcoal around you. That'll be so nice. I can actually see it! Good choice girl!

Moe you are right again....she will pop out in those colors....especially the charcoal, I love that color, it has such a regal essence about it, and depending on the time of day...that color will be perfect. Girl you are the best, nah all you need to do is send her some fabulous pictures of those charcoal dresses.
