Re: Hello ladies

Hi and welcome to the "Vibride". This is the place where you are sure to get some helpful advice and a good listening ear. I would say start with the place where your reception will be held. For me, this was a big situation. That is where most of your money will be spent. So, start there and then you can start on other things, like your gown, colors, a theme (if any) and flowers. And remember to have fun with it because it is your special day....

Be Blessed.....

Re: Hello ladies

Hi cece5, I agree with laneirh -- that is the first place where my now husband and I started. The reception can be a big expense, and it all depends where you have it, the site can be booked so far in advance by other couples.

Blessed be the Lord my strength ......

Re: Hello ladies

Try and squeeze some couples counselling in there also. Don't forget that you must have a solid foundation before and remember to always put God first in everything you do.

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

Re: Hello ladies

Welcome! Definately start now. Create a budget, but first see what you want the most first then weeed back until you can afford it. Get engaged first before spending a dime, though. It would be silly to start spending and your parents don't even know you are getting hitched or you change your mind about your boyfriend! [LOL]

Re: Hello ladies

Cece5 I am so pleased to hear that. Always put God first, remember Proverbs chp 3 vs 5 and 6. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct you path. Congratulations sista.

Re: Hello ladies

Have you chosen the colors for your wedding Cece5? If you knew the colors, you could begin picking up decorations along the way on ebay or other craft stores. Before you know it, you'll be ready to head down the aisle without stressing the details. Do you know what types of details you would like to include at the wedding and reception? Those are important also. The ladies of Vibride come up with the most fabulous ideas if you need help!

Re: Hello ladies

Also Cece5, consider the time of day that your wedding will be. Evening weddings call for a more formal look, whereas afternoon weddings are more informal. I believe that after 5pm is considered an evening time for a formal wedding.

Be Blessed.....

Re: Hello ladies

Good Laneirh...time of day and season. June is spring so remember light soft colors. For example if you are having an after 5pm wedding then deepen the spring colors for instance if your wedding is morning or afternoon then you can use something like baby yellow but if it's after 5pm..use a yellow that is deeper in color like egg yolk color. Whatever color you chose remember the time of year.

Re: Hello ladies

Charlotte, I never thought about keeping the same color but changing the shade. Like I am debating over two colors: 1 is an orange color and the other is pink. So if I go with the orange, then it should be a deep orange and if I go with the pink, it should be a darker pink?

Be Blessed.....

Re: Hello ladies

Absolutely Laneirh!.....really depending on the time of year and the time of day. I like your colors especially that orange, I love that, oh man have you seen burnt orange...gorgeous...just gorgeous!!!. Do you know the material "Raw Silk?"...well that fabric has both colors combined and it looks aerodescent, like an illusion, when you move the color changes on the dress.....GIRL YOU GATTA FIND THAT, ask Phenomonique to help you find it.....you will love it because they are both colors you choose. Let me know ok!
