What type of music do you prefer during the wedding ceremony: live vocals or recorded music? I"m thinking about using both but someone told me that it would be better to have one or the other.

laneirh, I think it depends on what you want. I used both at my ceremony -- recorded music for the seating of the mothers, processional, bride processional, and a live duet just before my husband and I said our vows, and a live soloist during the lighting of the unity candle.
I agree with 2nd....incorporate the both, recorded for the entrance and a soloist at certain points of the ceremony...it adds to the festivities. Have fun with it.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Im also having a hard time deciding what music to use. I already know for sure for my first dance it'll be to rkelly's "forever" and i want to walk down the aisle to Beyonce's " Dangerously in love" but as far as the bridal party walking down the aisle and a song for me and the bridal party to walk out of the church to i cant choose for the life of me. Rhoda...does he have any Godmothers, adopted mothers, old ladies very close to him, or even an older sister? Try to exhaust all avenues with his family and then if all else fales then I guess you can then incorporate your family but just before the dance announce that in memory of his mother/parents, the groom will dance with his ____ to honor her/their memory :-) okie doke!

Thanks Charlotte, he does have an older sister. I will use your advice and make the announcement right before he dances with his sister. Sometimes I feel so clueless, I had no idea how much goes into planning a wedding until I started planning mine.

So true, so true. I have learned so much over the past few months. My FH and I are doing this on our own. I'm glad we started early so we can do what needs to be done and if we make mistakes, like you say we got time to clean it up!!!!
