My fiance and I have been discussing ways to word our invitiations. Both of his parents are deceased. My parents are still alive. I suggested that we have the invitation come from our daughter. Something that says ______ requests the honor of your presence at the ceremony uniting her parents. Is this ok? I've never seen that done before and I don't want to be wrecking any rules or anything. You know I'm learning as I go along. What are you ladies doing?

Rhoda are so correct---I have two children and their names will definetly be first on my invitations. So you are on the right track.

I think that it would make your child feel more included in the ceremony and the entire process of planning. Sometimes when children are involved they seem to get left out, but you are doing the right thing.....Good luck!

Thanks Charlotte & Laneirh. My FH and I are taking extra special care to include her. She is 15, and while I am marrying her father, she is making adjustments too. Her dad & I have only been re-united for about a year and have not been together for all of that time. We want her to know that she means the world to us! I appreciate the encouragement.

Happily, that's nice. But, there's a couple of things. 1st, what is "At to this"? It doesn't sound right to me. The wording just sounds discombobulated. And it should be twentieth, not twenty day. Just a few pointers.
Happy that sounds really nice! However, I agree with Septbride that those few minor changes need to be made. I was really thrown with the "at to this". Had you seen this somewhere before or did you compose this yourself?

You are correct.....nothing is set in stone and if that invitation appeals to them and it fits their personalitites, I say go with it...also, and this is only "my" suggestion...soften up the intro a bit...where you say "ask you to be present at the ceremony uniting their parent etc

I have a question. Is there a particular order for the children's names to be on the invitation? Our children are Zaniya - age 10 (FH biological); Al-Jamier - age 9 (my biological); and Kyasia - age 4 (both FH and my daughter).
It's all on you..you can do oldest to youngest or youngest to oldest....you decide
