An Easier Way To Seat Guest.

My reception is a seated one for 300 people. Instead of having a crowd around a table looking for their place card what are other alternatives? We'll have hostesses to assist thank goodness. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

Good question Marshine. I can't wait to hear some of the suggestions. I'll check around on the internet and let you know what I find.

My suggestion to you is to indicate on the invitation what table they will be seated at.....girl with that amount of people you will need A LOT of hostess...geesh girl! that's a lot of people wow!

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

Re: An Easier Way To Seat Guest.

Thanks Nlbostic. CharlotteModebe thanks for your suggestion. I find it exciting planning for 300 people for several reasons. I have a lot of family in the south where the wedding will be including my fiancee, his family & my parents. My family up north and my friends have no problem going down south partly because I'm a late bloomer. I'll be 45 come wedding time, have 0 kids, never been married. I had educational, career and athletic goals that I've accomplished. I didn't let a trifling no good type of brother who I went out with for 11 years deter me from them. The Lord was with me. Thank you Jesus. Everyone who knows me and it's way more than 300 are so happy for me. After being single for 3 years the Lord set me up to meet my fiancee while I was in the south. We'll be together for 4 years in April.
Our hostesses are lined up but I haven't given them their assignments yet. 12 in total. Some will be assigned double duty. Ceremony and reception. I already ordered their gifts.

Re: An Easier Way To Seat Guest.

So that guests can easily find their places, a printed table plan positioned just inside the reception room will be very helpful. You may also wish to place a printed seating plan in the pre-reception drinks area. The most efficient form of table plan is where guests' names are listed alphabetically with their table number printed alongside their name. An adjacent map showing the physical table layout with the table numbers marked allows guests to locate their table quickly.

As an alternative to numbering your tables, why not give each table a name, particularly if you have a theme running through your wedding. Alternatively, you might wish to name your tables after people or objects relating to an interest or hobby you both share. elegant Placecard Holders.

Rosetta, thank you so much. You have wonderful ideas. It sounds like a plan to me. I can even have a hostess placed inside the room as the guest enter to direct (point)them to their seats in place of a map. Thanks again.

Wow Marshine 300 people -- you go girl & celebrate -- you have good reason to!!!! Rosetta has presented an excellent suggestion. I went to a wedding where the tables were named. The bride had a hostesses directing her guests & things ran very smoothly. Good luck!
